There’s always Liquid to be found when you live on the coast, but it’s not every day you find a jet ski showing off inside the lock gates.
This view is a constant, though… so long as the sky is blue! Wishing you a happy day, whether you spend it watching Harry and Meg, outstanding tennis, the FA Cup final or none of those. The one thing you must do is share Six Words with Debbie.
The warm spell has left us for a little while, but I have the loveliest memories of my visit to Thorp Perrow Arboretum. I had too many photos to share in just one post, so I thought I’d treat my Saturday readers to some sunshine too.
The lake meanders off into a stream here, skirting a couple of islets as it goes, and creating wonderful reflections.

Most of the UK will have their share of blueness this weekend. I’m just contributing a little more. It was actually a cool, damp day in the Algarve when I wandered into the museum and church of Igreja da Misericordia de Tavira. I had the place entirely to myself and spent a very pleasant hour browsing. I’d say that the pretty blue ceramic tiles, azulejos, are Prolific in Portugal, wouldn’t you?

In the midst of packing, and abysmal English weather, I pause to look back at what I have to look forward to. One of these images might get me into trouble when I return. My very last day, when the dry river beds weren’t, but the company was good.

No, seriously! I need to finish sharing my visit to Jerez. The Cathedral is magnificent. Originally a Collegiate Church, it wasn’t granted cathedral status until 1980, by the grace of Pope John Paul II, though the church itself dates back to the Christian conquest of Jerez, on 9th October, 1264. Briefly the sky was blue, but I was eager to see inside.
Just inside the mighty portal, I was surprised to find a model of an industrious looking Jerez, and close by, not so surprisingly, an altar to John Paul.
There was a wealth of beauty wherever you looked, the cathedral extending theatrically in a sequence of rooms behind the main altar.
My only disappointment was climbing the tower. I never can resist, but the spiral staircase led only to a grilled window, with a limited view.
Slightly more than my allotted Six Words, I agree, but I do hope Debbie finds this Joyful. Wishing you all a blessed and happy Easter. And, heaven’s above, Becky’s March Square is finally over! Let’s eat cake!

Rather special to find the photographic studio of a former war correspondent in Angola on Tavira’s Rua da Liberdade. Luis Andrade studied film making and photography, as well as journalism, and you can find 4 generations of photography in the tiny museum above the shop. Read all about the family business here. The museum is a photographic history of Tavira and I found it fascinating.
I also thought it might appeal to Paula, even though her Traces of the Past is intended to be in full colour this week. Tavira under snow is a rare sight. Talking of snow, I’m keeping my fingers crossed this weekend. We’ve had hailstones this morning. Enough of Siberia!
