Six Word Saturday

This page started life as a round up of my Six word Saturdays, which go back… and back!  Cate from the blog Show my Face  had the original notion to tame her ramblings by describing her week in just 6 words.  Naturally most of us don’t stop at that!  We’re far too “wordy” to quit right there, although my husband insists that’s how exactly how it ought to be. (he just likes to wind me up!)

You can add photos, drawings if you’re gifted that way (I wish!), an explanation of your 6 words or not- that’s up to you.  I’ve found it interesting and it’s given me a peek into some blogs I never would have found otherwise.  Give it a go?  Nothing to lose and many friends to win.

I’ve given up updating this page but I can’t quite bear  to let it go.  Many’s the time I’ve thought ‘no more’, but you’ll still find me on most Saturdays, airing my six words. I’m well into the 200s now and these are old ones:

      1. Haha. Great to be here. I don’t think I’ve ever written a post with just six words but there’s always a first time.

  1. really enjoyed scrolling your six word selections – some fabs are the museum reflection (with those tall sails) lisa’s tea cup hat, the three cats, the bubble effect, the header – and the tennis player – such variety! 🙂

    1. I used to update this page every week, Yvette, but then I dropped so far behind I decided I’d never catch up, so I left it as it stands. There’s so much on here, you end up goggle-eyed anyway! 🙂 So thanks for persevering 🙂 🙂

      1. well there is much to come back and still see in many of the shots – and some of the pictures i actually saw when they were originally out – but what great idea for a “page” for this – and it is nice to see how a blog evolves and ages – like a good wine I guess! 🙂

    1. Funny, I was just looking at this page this morning and thinking it needs an update but there’s so much of it! Might as well let it ride till I go for a new theme 🙂

  3. “Six plus one: a Croatian week”.
    Hi restless,
seeing your comment on Adventure in Croatia, couldn’t resist to at least add something.
The idea behind my six words, is that life here, day after day a God given present, always ends in Sunday.
And however life here is peaceful every day, on sunday people here stop doing what they do all week, working their land after a day in the factory, cutting wood for winter time, cleaning, harvesting (at the moment grapes), preparing, and still having time to relax after a long day.
Sunday however, all work comes to a halt, some visit church, many go to play balotte (jeux de boules), visit friends or family, or just sit back and listen to silence.
In stressed society, must, run, chase, more, this is a style of living I simply love, and recommend to each and every burned out “idiot”.
So six plus one: a Croatian week.

Let’s all aim for a Croatian week, it makes one love life again.
Best greetings from Dalmatia, Pim (a retired Dutchman living in the middle of nowhere).

    1. Hi Pim! The guy whose lifestyle I commented on was living in Dubrovnik, and I suspect that is nothing like as laidback and natural as the lifestyle you admire. But it is a very beautiful place and I have happy memories of it from long ago. Thanks for your visit 🙂

    1. How funny! I thought you were commenting on The Eye and I was just going to Google you a link to the bridge to explain, but then I followed you here. It’s just a page dedicated to all my Six word Saturdays, Viveka. Perhaps I should rethink it. 🙂

      1. It’s so easy to get things wrong, especially if there comments on new and old posts. I have even sent the wrong replay to the some …
        Don’t rethink too hard *smile

      2. Makes me realise what a lot of woffle I’ve written since I started out on here. Time for a new blog? You’ll have to come with me. 🙂
