Jo’s Monday walk

footsteps 02Hi walkers!

A few people have asked me about rules and regulations for joining my Monday walks.  Well, that part’s easy.  I don’t have any!

It’s not a challenge, you see.  Walking is one of the great pleasures of my life.  Ever since I began my blog I have enjoyed introducing people to new places, and the walks are another way to do it. Many of them are local and well known to me in my north east of England home.  Others are a bit more exotic.

Back in March 2014 I had the idea to invite you to participate, in Jo’s Monday walk : Greatham Creek. You might remember the peepholes photo.

I hadn’t thought it through, of course.  I just knew that I liked having company on my walks, and I was pretty sure that lots of you would have great walks to share.  I got that bit right!  You have shared some fabulous walks with me.

So, how does it work?  Every week I will publish a walk on a Monday.  If for any reason I can’t make it, I will let you know.  When the walk is published, anyone is welcome to leave a link in my Comments, to any walk that they have taken.  It doesn’t have to be on a Monday.  It can be at any time and of any duration.  The amount of detail/photos, etc. is up to you.

When I’ve read your walk post, I will tweet it and share on my Restlessjo Facebook page.

The following week, I will include a link to your walk post on the bottom of my Monday walk.  If I do it this way, more people have chance to see it than if I add them to my post as the week goes by.  Occasionally, if someone is very prompt or lives in a time zone ahead of me, I might include it in the same week.  I’m trying not to make it too complicated.  This page is simply to answer a few queries I’ve had, and hopefully to sort out any confusion.

I have had some wonderful walks shared with me, and I look forward to many more. Thank you so much to all who have taken part so far.  I thought maybe a logo would be nice and I rather like this one.  Expect it to turn up in my future walks.

That’s about it, really.  Any questions, or suggestions- I’m here.  Meantime, happy walking!

    1. Sounds fabulous! I’ve just switched off for the night and am settled with a glass of red. I’ll come walking tomorrow. The phone isn’t great for viewing xx

    1. It doesn’t matter too much where you put it Leya so long as I can find it. Life can be happy and sad so no reason walks shouldn’t be. Thank you very much for thinking of me xx

    1. I gather you miss the city then, Sim? I do love London and the little of L.A that I’ve seen I didn’t much like. Nice to meet you. 🙂 I have a house full of family this weekend but I’m still planning to put a Monday walk out, so you’re very welcome to join me.

    1. I’m happy for that, Phoebe. Yes, old ones are fine- they’re bound to be new to us! I like Ting’s escapes but struggle to get around all the participants so I’m glad you came here. 🙂

    1. Hi Fifi 🙂 Lovely to have you join me. Here is fine, or on the bottom of the latest walk, for the link. So long as I can find it, it doesn’t matter too much. It may be seen by more people from the latest walk page, but overall everybody will get a chance to read it in my next Monday post. Thanks a lot 🙂

      1. Thanks Jo. For some reason I didn’t see a comments section on your latest walk – just checked again – maybe it’s me! In any case I’ll try and do that in the future. Oh, and you can call me Corey. fifi + hop is the name of my confuses people :).

      2. Sorry, Corey! Somehow I knew you weren’t a ‘Fifi’ but couldn’t remember the relevant tag 🙂 No worries about the link. People do both. 🙂

    1. Thank you! I’m glad you like it. 🙂 It’s not as efficient as the Monday Escapes method of sharing but I’m not a very high tech person I’m afraid. I’d be delighted if you joined me any time. 🙂

    1. Hi Vivi! 🙂 I’ll look forward to that. Did you get that sunshine? I’d forgotten that it was the ‘Trooping of the Colours’ for the Queen’s birthday here today. The day started wet and miserable but has perked up a bit. I’ll get my glass out a little later 🙂

      1. Stockholm had a warm and sunny day … for the wedding. Down here it started off well, but it has been raining during the whole wedding. Yes, we were told that … it was the reason for that only Edward and Sofie came. I have celebrate with a big bowl of ice cream. *smile

  1. Would a stroll round the Englischer Garten in Munich qualify as a walk Jo? If so I can send you the link. I have been out of the loop with travels, family duties etc recently and would like to join in again! Am getting caught up on everyone else’s blogs at last!

    1. Of course, Rosemay. No hurry though. I’ve only been back from Poland a week and am still in major catch up mode myself. Just pulling my 6WS together now and I have quite a few featured walks for Monday (not that I know where we’ll be going 🙂 ) Have a good weekend!

      1. No stress Jo I’ll send it through after the weekend so you can include it when it suits. It seems to take me a couple of weeks or so to get back in the swing of things after a trip – I’m just about coming too myself now. Hope you had a great time in Poland and have a good weekend too 🙂

    1. Thank you for your lovely company, Ventis 🙂 I haven’t had time to get around all the posts yet. Mondays are busy because I usually walk, and then try to answer all my comments. Hugs, darlin’. Take good care!

  3. What a wonderful idea! I agree with you on the walking bit — I love to walk. People think I’m crazy sometimes because I walk so much and in all kinds of weather 😀 I don’t have a written blog, but rather I make videos about my travels. I might have to figure out some way to make a video walk here in Munich! Thanks for the idea 🙂

    1. Hi Dana! 🙂 My video making skills are non-existent so you’re a good step ahead of me there. I’ll come and have a look at your videos and see if I have any suggestions. Thanks for stopping by.

    1. A day early works well, Pauline! It means I can include you on this week’s walk, published tomorrow, which I’m still in the process of writing. Thanks a lot. 🙂

  4. Hey Jo- wanted to say thanks for linking my latest walk (with the RVA street portraits) – and I must say that I also feel like I got the “restless Jo bump” because my views spiked – and so did my spam comments – went from 1,000 in a period to 2,500- but they were all caught by askimet!!

so anyhow, came to say thanks for the restless Jo bump.
and dropped on by to just say hey!

    – and even though I am pausing for summer, I will be checking in on your walks from my phone! hugs ❤ ❤ ❤ ~y.

    1. Hi Yvette 🙂 Heck, sorry about the spam! I only get half a dozen. Must be my Norton Anti virus- who knows? I don’t do the technical bit so it’s down to my vigilant husband from the days when we shared a laptop.
Hope you’re enjoying your break. Huge thunderstorms here. I may be singing in the rain later.

  5. I love your walks and I love the fact that now I can accompany other people on their walks without leaving my chair! Of course the downside is that I don’t get rid of the calories this way :O

    1. Thanks, Jude. I’m very undemanding. You don’t need to fall down any holes with me, but I don’t try to tempt you to nice restaurants either 🙂 But I do very much appreciate your support!
