Daphne (or so my husband tells me)

A pretty-in-pink primula
Early blossom

One last spray of daphne
The hydrangea head- a vestige of Winter
And who shall I send it to? Why, all of you, of course, but with a special thought for friends who are having a hard time right now. I hope the flowers help to lift your spirits. I wish you all a joyful weekend. Keep smiling!

The fountain is in our local park which I walk through every Saturday morning to zumba. The flowers- round and about 🙂 May the spirit of Spring be with you!

LOVE the purple Iris, Jo. I’ve tried to grow them over the years, but our summers can be so hot and dry, they just don’t thrive like the one in your shot. I do appreciate you sharing!!

Beautiful bouquet, Jo, just the thing to cheer us up! I have seen some cherry trees with blossom on around here, and crocuses and daffodils are around (though mine in the garden aren’t flowering yet)

Our garden isn’t very colourful, Sue, apart from the hellebores. The front gets more sunshine so the heather is happy and a few wee crocuses. I just sneak up on the neighbours and snap away. (note- I said ‘snap’, not ‘snip’) 🙂

Thank you for the bouquet, as you know I love flowers, any time of the year. That hebe is flowering early though! And I rather think the forsythia might just be a winter jasmine – looks an awful lot like mine, as does the brown hydrangea heads. I must cut mine off soon as new buds are appearing (I keep them to protect from frosts, but not had much of them this winter). Sweet Daphne – a cheerful fragrant winter flower. My six words?

Glad you enjoyed them, Jude. 🙂 We had the long discussion hebe/buddleia and Michael would not commit himself because he’s only seen my photos. I know it’s very early but it’s been a most unusual winter and I’m convinced they’re hebes. We have forsythia just starting to flower in our garden but I took those through a garden fence just round the corner, and I will concede you might be right 🙂

I think they are hebes (by the leaf) but they are early, unless they are flowers that have remained all winter! I still have a geranium in flower!
