Six word Saturday

I went looking for reflections, but…

I didn't find many

I didn’t find many

I did find lots of boats

But I did find lots of boats

And you know I like a boat or two

And you know I like a boat or two

This wasn't quite the reflection I had in mind

This wasn’t quite the reflection I had in mind

Isn't it looking pretty today?

Isn’t it looking pretty today?

Just a whisper of reflection

Found a whisper of a reflection

Light patterns play in the water

And the sun playing in the water

The Black Diamond training ship

And around the Black Diamond training ship

Hooray! A cloud reflected in the window

Hooray! A cloud reflected in the window

The inner harbour is flat calm

Flat calm- fluffy clouds in the inner harbour

At last! A full on reflection

At last! A full on reflection

Next week’s Thursday’s Special has the theme ‘reflections’.  On a clear bright day this week I thought I’d get ahead of the game.  But there was just enough wind to ripple the water and make my task that little bit harder.  No matter!  I enjoyed playing anyway.

I won’t be going anywhere near Hartlepool marina this weekend.  It’s grey and wet!   Maybe we’re saving the sunshine for next weekend’s long Easter Break.  Wherever you are I hope you have a happy weekend.   And don’t forget to visit Cate at Show My Face to play Six word Saturday.

  1. Your marina scenes are lovely. And I actually like the window reflection Jo. Very much 🙂 I think I should hunt down some reflections for Paula’s challenge as well.

    1. I took some hilarious ones at zumba this morning, Madhu, but only on my phone and I haven’t looked at them yet to see if they’ll work. I wouldn’t mind but I already have some in mind. These challenges are ruling my life! 🙂 🙂

  2. Oh how I love boats and marinas, reflections or not, Jo. You have a cheery sun and puffy clouds. I’ve been away from the computer and have much to catch up on. Have a lovely weekend. 🙂

  3. Hi Jo – enjoyed this stroll – and variety of reflections! saw a boat I loved so much – the white one with gray (6th photo in)
~ also, your post today reminded me of Henri Matisse’s “The Boat” painting – because it was hung upside down – and it actually was when someone noticed that the reflection was not correct that something was “off” – hmmm – the reflection was everything in this very simple piece he made…..

  4. I am a “Boat” fanatic and have even owned a couple and sailed on a few more so you can imagine how much I enjoyed your photographs. I have great memories of sailing across the Mediterranean in a converted trawler during a decent gale, and the way the boat rocked and plunged through the waves. An exhilarating voyage to have survived 🙂

    1. There is some hint of sunshine now, but it’s blowing a hooligan so I’ll be on the laptop. I’ve zumba’d so that’s my excuse to be lazy 🙂
Dawn tomorrow? That’s not good timing because the clock’s go forward and you lose an hour! Don’t suppose it affects when dawn happens though. Enjoy! 🙂

    1. Oh, don’t, Viv! I can’t bear the thought! 😦 We had 2 sunny days this week and I actually thought it had Sprung and sat in the park with a book! Back to damp and dreary but I did enjoy the taster. 🙂

  5. Oh what a blue and sunny day at the marina, Jo. How I wish I had a marina nearby to visit. 🙂 Love your reflections, even if you didn’t find that many. Happy weekend. I’ll be heading to Hong Kong for Easter. Yay! xxx

      1. Yes, I guess you should, Jo, although I don’t think I could read any more blogs than I already do right now, what with my slow internet and my teaching schedule. Maybe once I return to Virginia. 🙂
