Undecided whether to throw all my eggs in one basket (and make scrambled eggs- nice and yellow!) or to saunter through the month, trailing yellow behind me for Jude’s Life in Colour Challenge. Chuck in a sunset or two… always makes me mellow.

You can leave your hat on…
Nossa Senhora
No children’s carnival parade this year

Bee orchid in the wild
Cultivated frangipane
Oxalis and insects
A nice place to hang your hat
Somebody asked for custard, honestly!
The shell is mine, too
Chilling with a view…
Speeding home, in the days when you could go somewhere, we were racing the sunset. It won! A blaze of glory…

Wishing my very beautiful daughter a happy 50th birthday! Sending hugs, darlin…
this is a beautiful i love it inspires me

Oops – misspelt I meant frangipanis! We have a couple of soft pink ones in pots in our garden π

Beautiful soft yellows Jo – one of my favourite hues and I love frangipanes! Happy birthday to your daughter – hope she had a good day under the circumstances (sounds as though she did from the other comments here!). Hope your week is going well and spring is in the air! Take care xx

Oh, and you canβt join her to celebrate. Sadness, in spite of the delicious mellowness of your yellows.

Don’t be sad, sweetheart! She had a wonderful day- I’ll send you photos π If it weren’t for Covid she would have been in Venice so I wouldn’t have seen her anyway. And apart from her hair, she doesn’t do yellow! Hugs, darlin!

this was a delightful post – I have felt that with a lot of the yellow-themed posts lately –
but it has been a few days since I have seen any – and so coming to this post (with a quick blog check in) it really was yellow delight
the mellow start and then the custard and that cool glimmer with the wine – the hat, house and more
well perfect for the daughter’s 50th – and that was the bonus smile
home she has a great day and celebrates the gift of half a century –
π
please tell her I sad that
take care

Thanks a lot, Yvette (sorry about the log in- I never know why, because it sometimes happens to me too?)
I know she had a great day. I have photographic evidence of her attacking the surprise birthday cake I arranged for her (decorated with cherries, chocolate wafers and mini marzipan mushrooms π ) and then glammed up in all her finery for her evening meal at home. Her lovely best friend delivered the cake for me and a VR set to watch Cirkue du Soleil. I know she was happy! The intention had been to return to Venice where they honeymooned at Carnival 8 years ago. Life is what we make it π

The world seen with a yellow filter. Such lovely images. And of course, the title makes me think of good, old Donovan…

What a plethora of beautiful yellows! I think Frank made the snarky remark about giving up cakes and about custard, so I hope he sees this. π Speaking of mellow yellow, I now have Donovan’s song in my head. Talk about going back some years!

Frank has already helped himself to custard π π

Hey Jo,
Yes good news and bad news.
I had to do a 3 hour EEG to get better brain readings. The Neurologist said I was OK to drive again with conditions ie not at night or long distances or when tired. Went to see what I have to do and have a friggin form my GP has to fill out so it’s going to be a few weeks before I can get being the wheel π

Well, that’s great news but you need to get K to lean nicely on your GP and get a bit of action! π π

Not the day she planned (in Venice), Anabel, but champagne breakfast and a truly fabulous birthday cake (from yours truly- photo might follow). When I spoke to her this evening she was going to dress for dinner, which was being delivered- boeuf bourginon and raspberry and white chocolate cheesecake. Awful, huh? And thanks, hon!

Iβm glad she was able to make the best of it. We have a big anniversary next month and had hoped to be in Amsterdam, but will no doubt find a similar solution. Dressing for dinner sounds good, I canβt remember the last time I did that! Seems aeons ago.

Just finished talking to my daughter on WhatsApp, Suzanne. She’s happy and has had a good birthday in spite of not being able to go to Venice as planned. My son is house hunting. It’s all about them, really. If they’re ok then we are, but it will be so good to have a hug π€ππ
