Elusive shadows

IMG_0046

It was hot in the Algarve last month and I spent a lot of time searching for Shadow.  Here on the waterfront at Olhao I found a good vibe.

The island of Armona is one of my idyllic places.  Just a ferry ride away.  Sangria anyone?

The palms don’t offer much shade, and I’d have to dress up for the pousada.  Those cloisters do look inviting though.

Faro is an uber cool place for strolling.  A little arts and crafts.  Maybe even an ice cream?

When evening falls it’s still warm, and those shadows are ever more elusive.

Is it any wonder I’m planning my next trip?  Thanks, Paula, for giving me another opportunity to share a place I love.

    1. Thanks sweetheart 🙂 It was one of those ‘got to take this’ shots, as the boys went ahead to some food and shade. 🙂 That was such a nice sangria! I’m not generally a fan but I’m cultivating it. 🙂

  1. Beautiful post, nicely paced! I love sangria. Now here’s a question for you, Jo: If you have to chose between a scone and an ice cream, what would it be? 🙂

    1. I’ve never been a big sangria fan, Liesbet, but they had ‘white’ sangria and I’d never tried it. One afternoon, while Mick was getting a puncture fixed on the car (he gets all the good jobs 🙂 ) me and my son downed a jug in Faro and it was very pleasant. The one in my photo was better though- at a lovely beach bar on Armona.
Probably scone but it does depend on the mood. I like savoury scones too. Mick’s the ice cream addict. 🙂

  2. A great choice for the theme, Jo. I can see how welcome the shadows must have been.
Faro looks great. I have been once but don’t remember much about it, apart from rain! But then it was over 20 years ago so I’m sure it must have changed.
