Six word Saturday

Thursday’s still Special on a Saturday

IMG_6130

Last Saturday you accompanied me to a rather wonderful cake shop in Kraków.  Just so you don’t think that I spent the entire two weeks eating cake, I think you should come with me on a little stroll to the park.

It’s a very busy household I was staying in.  Work in the bakery starts in the early hours and often Łukasz leaves home before 5.  Ula combines study with learning the trade, sometimes in the cake shop till 10 at night.   Their father, Adam, is at the helm of the bakery and machine manufacturing business all day long.  Which leaves wife Marta at home, feeding and nurturing, whilst oldest daughter Weronika looks after eleven month old Bartek.  So what was I to do?

Find a bench in the Park and watch the world at play.  All was peaceful when I first arrived, but soon excited voices broke into my reverie.  A posse of pre-schoolers were being coraled in the playground.  Peace was gone, but a smile lit my face.

Paula makes Thursday special every week, and you know that’s still true on a Saturday.

Hope you have a great weekend. Why not share your six words with Cate, and I’ll be back on Monday with a Polish walk for you.

  1. Oh, most definitely. I wish seesaws were shaped like crocodiles when I was a kid too :D. Jo, this is beautiful, but you know that. I can never resist your blooms. I am allowed to publish one of these in the slideshow on Wednesday. If so, which one?

  2. I know it’s not exactly the most lyrical of words Jo, but the first word that came out of my mouth when I saw your first photo was ‘wow!’ Beautiful, all of it… 🙂 xx

  3. Love your pink blossoms, Jo, and it looks like a gorgeous day. I don’t believe for a second you could eat cake every day; you’ve been so thin and elegant as long as I’ve known you. If somehow you do manage to eat cake and keep that fantastic figure, you are one lucky lady. 🙂

      1. Same here with the cherry blossoms, Jo. And rain… don’t even get me started! I believe half of April and the entire month of May have been non-stop rain, with a few scattered days of sunshine. I know you’re a big fan of cake, but you never seem to put on a pound, Jo. Do you not eat any other meals? 🙂

      2. Just done tapas in our marina. A rare celebration of ‘us’, just because we can, Cathy. I’m glad that you and Mike have sorted out your differences. 🙂

  4. Beautiful time in the park, Jo. Very nice to hear you decided to step away from the bakery and be good 😀 Those pink flowers are very pretty and love your shots of them. That playground certainly looks inviting. I would have probably hopped on the see-saw things and jumped down the slide had I walked with you 🙂

  5. Love the title 🙂
And why didn’t playgrounds look like this when I was little? We’ve had this conversation before… Musical fountains sound intriguing.

  6. We like your wording, Jo
    – and NO; We’d never ever think you’d spend all day eating cake. Not by your good looks. You have a dreamlike figure, makes me honestly go green with envy. 🙂
    Have a wonderful weekend,

    1. Bless you, Ineke! You’re very kind. I saw Arkenaten’s comment on Thursday’s Special about the parks in Jo’burg. Not necessarily a place to linger. 😦

    1. Ha! You just caught me stamping my feet, demanding to see musical fountains over on Meg’s blog. 🙂 🙂
The helpers might have frowned on such behaviour, Becks. Saturday, rainy day hugs!
