I came home from Poland to a few days of lovely weather, which even saw me having breakfast in the garden one morning. The clouds are back now but I just made it to the cliff tops at Seaham in time to catch a few wild orchids to add to Jude’s collection of Wildflowers.

Beautiful, Jo. Spring is a magical time of the year. I am (re)appreciating it after a decade of “endless summers”. Enjoy the favorable weather and gorgeous views!

Thanks, Liesbet. 🙂 It still seems to be one step forward and 2 back, but that’s Spring for you.

Orchids! As I looked through the photos, I wondered ‘crocus’, ‘iris’, ‘hyacinth’ .. but never orchids. And that purple color is luscious.

They’re only tiny, Susan, but very bonny 🙂

Orchids, oh how I love them. I wish we would have wild ones here, but I assume it’s too cold. Great pictures, I am glad you are back.

Thanks a lot! 🙂 They’re the kind of thing you don’t see and then when you spot one you find loads.

Wild orchids? In all my rambling around England, I’ve never seen one – at least that I recognized. Wonderful photos Jo. ~James

They are quite small, James, and can be overlooked, but they do grow freely around here. I know of several places to find them. 🙂 Many thanks!

Beautiful Jo! How was Poland? I just was in London last week. The first two days were gorgeous warm weather and the second two were horrible continual rain! But the flowers and gardens were amazing and lush. Had a great time.

Poland was interesting, Nicole. I loved meeting Meg in Lodz, and I spent lots of time eating cake. 🙂 🙂 The rest will be in the blog at some stage 🙂 So changeable, the weather!

I look forward to reading it Jo. I’ve been rather lazy about blogging and reading blogs these days. Just busy and the weather has finally become nice so I’m taking it easy. But I will for sure read your Poland posts. I remember the ones you wrote on your hikes there.

Hi Jo,
Well, there were various reasons for me being quiet on my blog(s). Being busy with life was one. And also, as I mentioned in my answer to your comment to my latest posting, some kind of writer’s block.
Have agreat weekend,
Pit

Finely caught, Jo. Your orchids are very striking. You’ve reminded me to go scouting on Windmill Hill to see what’s up.

They were quite unexpected, Tish. There was a huge carpet of cowslips, and nestling in amongst… me! 🙂 🙂 I’ve just been back to pop my best cowslip photo in, just to prove they were there. I wonder if Jude has any on the Cornish cliffs? (orchids, I mean 🙂 )
