And for Paula, wishing her peace

And for Paula- who’s sometimes special

My gallery this morning is to say a big thank you to all of you who keep appearing in my Comments, whether it rains or shines. And also to apologise to the many others who sit patiently in my Inbox, awaiting a turn. Blame it on the Summer or Wimbledon, I’m not sure which, but I just can’t manage to keep up at the minute.  Hoping normal service will be resumed at close of play.

As I walked through the park this morning it struck me that flowers are, for me, so often a symbol of friendship, and so I’m adding this post to the Weekly Photo Challenge.  Why not?

In the meantime, have a wonderful weekend, and I’ll see you on Monday for a walk.  After you visit Cate, to share your six words.

  1. Love your flowers and dedications. And I agree, love the WP community. Side note, I am working on a blog post with the same title as yours. When I saw “Summertime..and the livin’ is easy” I thought to myself “did I hit publish accidentally?” Great minds think alike! 🙂

    1. How funny! Don’t start me off singing that song again! I couldn’t get it out of my head all weekend 🙂 Don’t mind me- just pinch my ideas, why not? (joke 🙂 )

    1. You’re early this week! 🙂 🙂 I’m trying to get a few responses in before we go out to lunch. It’s wet and miserable here so no walk. Mick’s birthday yesterday so delayed celebration.

      1. I am aren’t I? All part of my new image, haha 😀 Hope you’re having a lovely lunch as I type this Jo…and happy belated birthday to Mick for yesterday 🙂

  2. You are a treasure Jo, this is a lovely bouquet every one is a beautiful dedication to friendship and a big thank you for “my” delightful apricot-pink rose. You are marvellous how you keep up with your comments, a big commitment to the friendship of the WP world.

      1. Thank you too Jo – I’ve been to so many incredible places online through your blog. You keep posting and I’ll keep coming along for the tours! Have a great week ahead.

    1. No worries, Paula 🙂 I made a return visit to Seaton Delaval Hall this week and got some better shots (hopefully) to share when you’re back. Have a great time!

  3. Wimbledon is addictive, isn’t it? Hours seem to just disappear and all I meant was just to check in on things. Anyway, love how you paired these flowers with your friends……a lovely gesture!

  4. Keeping up is my problem, too and I’m not at Wimbledon. What an unexpected and sweet honor to be growing in such a prestigious garden, Jo. Your posts are always a treat to read. 4 grandchildren and their parents pop in today for a few days, so I will off line for the time being. We’ll keep them busy at the beach and fishing. 🐠

  5. And here I thought I was going to get a spider. LOL! You’re just the sweetest Jo and thanks for remembering me. Love you for it. 😀 ♥

Excellent shots of the beautiful flowers hon. I know Gilly is going to enjoy herself at the arts and crafts market. 😆

      1. hahahaha! Those silly spiders there just don’t know you yet Jo. If they did, they would be lining up for photoshoots. 😆

  6. What a wonderful tribute to your friends. Beautiful flowers. So perfectly snapped I can almost smell them here. Enjoy Wimbledon Miss watching tennis – my favorite was watching Andy Murray win the US Open in 2012…!

    1. Thanks, Lisa! In calm waters now? 🙂 I wish I’d had a flower for everybody who visits regularly, like yourself. Can you imagine??? Hugs! Your support is so appreciated.

      1. In lovely Viani Bay with access to the beautiful Rainbow Reef (in sun) and Internet (in rain). If you gave all your regular visitors an individual beautiful flower picture I am certain you’d crash your blog 🌻

  7. Beautiful flowers Jo and what a lovely way to say thank you to your readers and followers 🙂 You do a great job of keeping up with everyone and your support and encouragement of fellow (and upcoming) bloggers is much appreciated. Have a lovely weekend 🙂

    1. Thanks, Rosemay 🙂 It’s Mick’s birthday today so I’m up early and blogging as usual. Nothing planned- he likes a home-cooked Sunday dinner and then we’ll watch Federer in hopes. I may sneak into the garden for a while when he and our son watch cricket. 🙂

  8. Thanks for the lovely bouquets of flowers, Jo. They brighten my day! Enjoy Wimbledon. I’m sure you’re glued to the TV!! My dear friend Jayne was able to go, so she’s there now I guess. 🙂

    1. Not as glued as I would be if Rafa hadn’t gone out in the first week, Cathy! 😦 It’s always a toss-up (ha! ha!) between watching and being outdoors when the weather’s good. You’re welcome, hon. Have you started packing yet, or is some of it already shipped? Counting down for sure 🙂 🙂 🙂

      1. Oh no, Jo, so sorry about Rafa. You know I don’t follow tennis, so I didn’t have a clue! Already shipped my last two boxes, now just packing the final things into my suitcase. Almost there, except for those three long flights ahead. 🙂

  9. What a lovely post, Jo. I agree that flowers are a great symbol of friendship. A few years back, I read a novel titled The Language of Flowers about a florist who makes flower arrangements based on the recipient’s personality. Interesting read!
One more day for Wimbledon! 🙂

    1. Thank you! 🙂

When you set up a gallery in WordPress it gives you an option to describe each photo. Are you new to WP? It’s very easy if you just load your photo and then select ‘create gallery’.

  10. Aww so sweet – gorgeous blooms, and I loved reading all your buddies’ names. It put a huge grin on my face. Tennis, flowers, summertime – siren calls to live your moments. That’s what I’m gonna do today. Have fun!

    1. Hi Sammy! 🙂 I wish I had a flower in there for everybody! As the comments come in I keep thinking I should have done so many more. Huge thanks for all your support and lovely comments.

      1. LOL everybody you didn’t name is thinking “poor Jo, if I comment she’ll feel bad she left me out”. 😀. That happens to all of us when we pay tribute by name.

You make Everybody smile. You should take pleasure from that!

  11. Lovely post, Jo….made me smile! I take it I’m one of the young-at-heart, but not quite rocking horse young😀😀 anyways, like you I can’t keep up at the moment. Have just spent 6 hours with a friend trying to sort out some more ‘stuff’ at my place……. I’m truly worn out now.

    1. I did think that there was a bit of contrast between you and Sue Slaught with her biking/running activities, Sue but I couldn’t think of a way to politely differentiate 🙂 Must be time to put your feet up!

      1. Just play it by the ear and enjoy the day – that’s what we often do.
        Happy birthday to your hisband,
        Pit

  12. Ah, what a lovely post Jo! And a creamy white rose for me – clever you! I was expecting a bench though 😀

Have a great weekend. My money is on Federer tomorrow, but whatever, it should be a good game. I am beginning to think ‘our Roger’ is a Synth!!! THEN I can go and visit some gardens!

    1. I don’t want to spoil you, Jude! Too many benches can go to a person’s head 🙂
Yes, Fed just has to after that performance! It would be a travesty if not. Mick’s birthday tomorrow and I’m not sure what the plan is. I think he may be sulking because we’re not in Tavira. 😦

      1. No restaurant booked then? We’ve got used to spending birthdays away from home, but it doesn’t always work out for mine in October. Suspect it won’t this year either. But I will expect dinner out!

      2. He doesn’t really want to- I don’t know why. I guess it’s more of a treat for me if we eat out. Probably just be Sunday dinner at home. 😦

  13. Ahh thank you Jo, this has really touched me ❤ I love visiting you, you're so real and down to earth and even though I can't keep up with my replies I'm chuffed to bits when you visit me. Have a lovely weekend darling!

    1. Gilly, you’re a sweetheart, that’s for sure. 🙂 I sometimes get a little weary with blogging but I can never get tired of the friends I’ve made on here.

  14. What a lovely post of gifts. That last photo is stunning – glorious colour and detail. A small correction. I think pansies look cranky, not bland! These certainly aren’t bland, but they’re not altogether good-humoured either!

    1. Do you know, I couldn’t remember exactly what you’d said and didn’t have time to seek out the post where you said it. Apologies and amendment made 🙂 Hugs!

      1. White bottle brush plant, I Instagram one in purple and I couldn’t remember the exam name. I said something about bottle cleaners. Ha ha ha that’s close. Thank you!

    1. I had no idea what to do for 6WS this week, Ann, but I had the song in my head and it was a good start. Meg left me a comment about pansies (which I misremembered and she’s since corrected me) and it just went from there. Thanks again for ‘liking’ me so much 🙂

    1. It’s just about over, Tanya 🙂 A great scrap! (you’ll be cheering for the young Venezuelan?) Wish I had a flower in here for everyone. Thank you so much for your loyal support. 🙂

    1. It started with the song and just went from there, Debbie. Happy to make you smile 🙂 Watching the Ladies final and a little time in the garden. Not a bad life!

    1. I owe Meg an apology, Alison! What she actually said was they’re ‘cranky’. Little crosspatch faces 🙂 I know what she means and I’ve since corrected it. I can only commiserate, hon.
