It seems so long since we were there, yet it’s barely two months. I suspect it’s much longer than that since I took part in Dawn’s Lingering Look at windows, so I thought that I’d bring the two together this week.
Come and press your nose up against a few windows with me. Click on a photo to start the gallery and look for clues.
It’s Paris, of course! One of my many wonderful memories this year.
Dawn keeps finding interesting windows, week after week. Maybe you have some you’d like to share? Click on this link to visit the challenge.

The abandoned building is really interesting and beautiful, how sad that it’s not being used. A stylish collection Jo!

Thanks, Gilly. I feel sure that it’ll be in use again sometime. It was a department store but has stood empty since 2005, can you believe? I found this piece and it seems the developers are on the move, sadly. http://www.theguardian.com/world/2014/apr/11/la-samaritaine-redevelopment-battle-paris

So beautiful J ad the stained glass one my favorite. I have a terrible time trying to get a decent photos of stained glass. Any tips?

You’re joking, Sue! You know I’m a point and click girl 🙂 How’s Nice?

No I’m not joking as another point and shoot girl. Perhaps the trick is not to have the sun shining directly at the window. Nice is fabulous! We fly home in the morning. 😦

All beautiful but none as mesmerising as the stained glass windows (Notre Dame). I have been known to snatch anything up that is made of stained glass. Thanks for sharing these photos Jo 🙂

That Samaritan building was amazing, Ad. I couldn’t believe it was empty, so near to the Seine. Business op for somebody! Thank you 🙂

We spent some time passing through the ‘galeries’, which were quite near to our apartment, Lynne. The ‘shopping with style’ one is Galerie Vivienne and the others I think are Grand Cert. There were lots of them scattered around and I really liked them. 🙂

There are so many lovely windows that it is hard to pick a favourite. I like the dragonfly (I’m assuming that’s what it is) ones – was there some connection with the shop, or was it just a nice motif to use?
LikeLike
Thanks, Elaine. The shops in that ‘passage’ were all arty/quirky so I’m not so sure of the connection. I just thought it made an interesting shot. 🙂

I was happy with that one too, Jill. It was quite busy inside Notre Dame so it took a little manoeuvering 🙂

Of course, Paris! I love the picture of the Louvre which is gorgeous but I have a soft spot for the one looking down on the cafe too 🙂

600! My goodness. Easily done though, I am sure. Just a thought. Who keeps all these beautiful windows clean? Our city is gaining many new buildings with glass facades and windows. Does anyone think about the cost of cleaning them? The amount of water required, and the cleaning agents? Perhaps they dwell only in the beauty of the creation. 🙂

I hate cleaning windows, Ann, or I’d volunteer. They’re always streaky! 🙂

Mine too. I was looking at them in despair yesterday but not enough despair to do anything about it. 😀
