Verão em Tavira- Summer in Tavira
Tavira council organises Verão em Tavira, a running programme of free outdoor events in the evenings over the Summer months. Just as the day starts to cool a little, the whole world takes to the streets. Click on the gallery above for a closer look.
And when your holiday is enlivened by the presence of another blogger- well, more of that to follow, but here’s my favourite photo of Cathy.
Appropriate really for someone who calls herself Catbird. She was great company. She flies back to the States on 25th July so I hope she’s enjoying every last moment of Portugal. Wish I was still there.
Thanks Cate, at Show My Face, for being my kind hostess again on Six word Saturday this week. I’ll be round later to see what you’ve all been up to while I was away. Wonder what next week will bring?

What a beautiful looking holiday, I especially love the beach shots, and that one of all the anchors is a work of art in itself 🙂

It has been photographed from so many angles, Seonaid. My favourite is a sunset shot, but I’ve yet to witness it. You’ll see it here when I do. 🙂

Very cool indeed, Amy! What a lovely lady. She stayed with me a couple of nights. I’ll be posting more when I’ve caught up a little. 🙂 And thank you!

I loved working with Dallas; her story has left a lingering mark on my mind and I can’t help keep thinking about Nia…

I just read it, Suze. I love it! So Dallas must’ve had the story in mind and browsed through your Turkish photos to illustrate it? What a lady of taste! 🙂

Marianne at East of Malaga was hosting her for 2 nights, Colline, and I’d already thought “shall I?” but felt a little shy ( not to mention what my husband might think of sharing our getaway). He said it was “up to me” and I think he rather enjoyed having a vivacious blond around the place. 🙂

I love the house with the pink flowers, just the sort of place I could live

That’s a good effect- what combination of symbols produces that one, Vicky? I’m not much good at them.

Beautiful – we were due to be in Cabanas today for a week but sadly a family illness has forced us to cancel our holiday. Another year…but in the meantime I loved seeing the photos.

Oh, Tanya! I hope it’s nothing too serious? I thought of you earlier today.
You’re right- Tavira will still be there, and maybe we can even get together. 🙂
Sorry for your bad news.

It was a really good trip, Sonel. All of Britain is baking at the moment except for our little coastal strip in the north east, where it is persistently grey. Holidays! 🙂
I hope to catch up with yours later this eve. Big hug.

Jo, I’m so happy to see your post about Verão em Tavira. It looks like it was a wonderful time, beach and all (& fado), and I’m so sorry to have missed it. I loved our boat ride and Alte and Silves (?) and dinner (I can still taste that yummy sauce on my chicken and all that great wine. Have you found the fig and almond gelato yet?) I can’t wait to read your Cathy stories too. I have a feeling there will be something about my excess luggage!! 🙂

I haven’t posted your stuff yet, Cathy. I have 2 Polish birthday cards to write and I’ll take them all to the Post Office on Monday. I hope you haven’t been buying in Sintra? 🙂

Don’t worry about it at all, Jo. Get to it when you get to it and please let me know if I owe you more; I will find a way to get it to you, along with your handy Lisbon book. By the way, the Lisbon book said Monserrate’s palace wasn’t open, but it is now!
Hmmm, haven’t really been buying much. Just a couple of scarves, a can of sardines and a fado CD (Ana Moura). Just one more train ride to Lisbon and then I’m home! I may have to buy a thing or two in Lisbon…. 🙂

The Lisbon book’s from about 2004, Cath? I fancied Monserrate too. 🙂
Naughty! Just imagine me scowling beside you.

Looks like Tavira knows how to “celebrate life”. Great images of things to do and you’re right. There is nothing like a beach in the summer. Glad you and Cathy could connect.

It was a good trip, Lynne, and we never seem to be short of things to do there at any time of year. 35C slows me down a little, though- not quite so restless! 🙂

Viveka- how lovely to hear from you! I left a comment yesterday but wasn’t sure if it went into your Spam box? I think there have been some WordPress issues while I was away? Never mind- are you well? Missing Mum? You’ll enjoy my Cathy stories, when I find time. 🙂

Sorry, Viveka. I found some of Cathy’s posts of the places she visited before me on Facebook, and have been engrossed reading. I’ll go and check. I don’t always see comments in my “dropdown”- I think it depends how many come in? Glad to hear from you anyway. Big hug! 🙂

🙂 This sounds sooo good, Jo. I can tell that you enjoyed this. ~~ We have been (drove) from Mont Saint-Michel, France, to Gribralter but Seville was the closest we got to Tavira.
We are in London for a spell now but the furthest South and a bit East could be Brighton. Or it might be Peppa Pig Land in South Hampton. North for sure to Northampton as have friends there, and hoping for West to Wales (not very probable).
