A woodland walk in Spring sunshine
Not feeling too much like talking this week, so I’m letting the photos speak for me. Click on a photo to start the gallery rolling, if you’d like.
Guisborough forest loop
These woods are full of creatures
Mr. Fox
Some hedgehogs who forgot to hibernate
Squirrels are always cute!
You can sit awhile on a butterfly
So new, she hasn’t weathered in yet!
Some spares
Newcomers?
Poor wise owl’s going nowhere.
The woodcutter’s cottage?
Disgusted that nobody had an apple!
The deer doesn’t look too happy either
This chap has to earn his keep.
The owl family have simply dozed off!

Or two!
Cate at Show My Face will be glad to have your company. My thanks to her for being our kind hostess. I actually didn’t go much past my Six Words this week!

I didn’t find any teddy bears having a picnic! 🙂

They look completely different when the trees green up, Ute. I don’t remember seeing half so many sculptures. 🙂

Beautiful pictures, Jo. I love the horse, my grandfather had one just like that on his farm 😀

The chestnut? He was handsome, but not at all impressed that we couldn’t find an apple between us! 🙂

It looks a lovely place to walk, the carvings are fascinating, which must make the walk even more interesting.
The owls remind me of one we have close to home.
The council were tidying the area of damaged trees, when one worker, armed with a chainsaw, carved an owl from one of the remaining stumps, in about 5 mins flat.

I’ve been there before, Vicky but didn’t remember so many sculptures. Maybe because of the time of year. With the trees so bare still, they stand out more. 🙂

Sundays are a little more mundane. Cooking and ironing to send my son back to his Leeds flat fed and clean again. Thanks for your visit. 🙂

Great stuff.
Do you have to be part of a splinter group to enjoy this walk?
Have a great week.

I’ve been part of a walking group for 8 years or more. They’re a nice group, and sometimes my husband walks too, if work’s not so busy. The woodland trail is open to anybody but it’s nice to have company and not think about where you’re going. The walk leader is a great guy.
I belong to a separate group for Nordic walking too. Just like to be outdoors when it’s nice weather. 🙂
