What does purple look like to you? I’ve been somewhat demented in the last couple of weeks, even though Jude supplied me with a palette to help matters. I thought purple was purple, not that plummy, damson colour, and it seems I have a distinct fondness for violet, at the bluer end of the spectrum. Oh, what the heck? It’s only a challenge, isn’t it? And the point is to take photos you like and that are interesting. Don’t you think?
More shimmer than violet? But I love the purple heath on our marshes
Step right this way! For a perfect example of purple Verging on violet? Can’t be, can it? But a lovely house! So many shades! An improbable window Even my cana can claim red wine colour. Ask Sammy Snail! Don’t you love the fishermen’s houses, but what’s this? A purple jet ski, of course!
(You do need to open the gallery to see the photos in full. Block editor loves to chop them off!)
When is purple, pink? Or violet? Don’t ask me! I’m just an innocent bystander. Happy Monday everyone!
A lovely selection! Iβm also befuddled by this colour!

Iβve yet to post my purples! Iβm still busy with my site so Iβve closed it off for a little longer. Apologies for that! Itβs all a steep learning curve for me! Hope to be up and running by end of May at the latest!

Beautiful purple! I do love the color in nature and all else. I was able to see my 3-year old grandson this past week and while reading a story he informed me that purple was his favorite color. I was charmed by that. He has good taste! π

I think all your shades of purple are lovely, Jo. Those tiles are especially pretty.

Thanks, Carol π π Those tiles are unusual. The village of Santa Luzia, not far from us, has lots of old ones.

Somewhat demented? Only last week? Lovely pics Jo, never really sure what purple is. I have no clue what violet, indigo, pink or purple are really. Far too complicated for me.

I missed Jude’s palette post so I’m glad I saw it here. I had decided to keep out of the months with purple and violet, it seemed safest! But then I saw on Jude’s post that any version of purple or violet will do, so I’m back in.
I like your purple octopus. π

What a wonderful collection of beautiful photos, Jo. One way to distinguish the difference between the two colours, although I can never do it, is to remember that purple is closer to red and violet is closer to blue. Thanks for sharing and have a nice day. Aiva π xxx

Purple is such a hard colour to define really as there are so many variants.Strangely it’s not a colour which ever features in my life – I don’t dislike it, it’s just that I’ve never really had many things of that colour. I love your octopus and the tiles, and the house looks lovely even though it’s not really purple π

I don’t think I’ve ever owned anything purple, Eunice. I do have a wine coloured winter coat, but I’ve never regarded it as purple π π

I think of you every time I post a purple photo because of your reluctance and your narrow definition of purple. π Hee, hee. It does get a bit confusing when purples seem to be melting into either pink or blue, but as you said, Jude’s not harsh about it. I know my husband and I see colors differently sometimes. π Happy Monday, Jo, and I enjoyed your choices greatly.
