Chimney pots to coach and horses
Found in Quarteira bus station, though I wasn’t waiting for a bus. Have a happy weekend, all, and don’t forget to play 6WS!

What a lovely find in a bus station – great pictures!

Thanks, Andrew. The simplest things 🙂 🙂 I’m just about to traipse round Pamukkale with you. Has the rain stopped?

Jo you will soon think I am completely daft. I’ve never heard the term chimney pots prior to this. Looking at the gorgeous tiles I can see the decorative features that adorn the top of chimney stacks. I think we in Canada must have such dull architecture. 🙂

Modern is probably the word, Sue 🙂 🙂 And lots of newer houses here are built in a ‘boring’ style, without chimney pots. It’s one of the reasons I love to walk in the countryside, spotting the different chimneys.

Beautiful! How fitting to have so many different buses in a bus station.

These are quite beautiful. I thought they were wall art Jo, but someone else mentioned tiles. which is it? In either case I love the use of blue and white. so crisp!

They are azulejo tiles on a bus station wall, Tina. Past their best but some of them are still lovely. 🙂 🙂

They are wonderful, Jo. I like the way you’ve shown them as 2 slideshows so the changes between portrait and landscape don’t distract.
I was going to ask if they were from the Lisbon museum (that I still haven’t been to) but then you answered the question. Like Margaret, I like the chimney pots, and I like the Volvo bus. Have a great weekend. x
