Six word Saturday

Don’t you just love wild poppies?

#SquareTops Say it with poppies!  Where’s the link here?  Maybe I’ll have to go for top drawer.  I’m struggling this morning, but I could get lyrical about poppies.  Meanwhile, Debbie says it with bluebells.  Happy Six Word Saturday!

  1. My neighbour has poppies in her yard, but that probably doesn’t count as wild does it? But this reminds me of a tour in Turkey I took probably 15 years ago. Part of the tour was to pamukkale and it was considered in old times a special healing place. On the hillsides there I remember many wild poppies. They looked lovely in bright red against the green hillside.- David

    1. I love poppies wherever I find them, David. Including the exotic Icelandic ones in vivid colours. I’ve been to Turkey many years ago. Pamukkale was on the list but we didn’t get there. An interesting place, I think. We were gulet cruising from Bodrum to Fethiye. Seems like another life! 🙂 🙂

      1. We will, Jo. *big hug*
I just baked a birthday cake for my eldest son, who turned 29 today. And I drizzled melted dark chocolate with Grand Marnier over it. Can’t wait to get my teeth in it! 😀
Have a sweet weekend, dear Jo. x

      1. Wow. You really keep up your walks in times like these. I think you deserve a round of laziness every afternoon 😮 Or have another cake 🍰🤭

Also I saw your nice comment on my blog. It went to Trash so I took it out of the Trash. It’s okay 😂

      2. Lots of things seem to end up in Trash these days Mabel. Maybe someone is trying to tell me something 🤣I suspect I have just excelled myself with a Sunday morning stroll. The other half is in a speechless heap on the settee. I think he might be glad to get back to ‘normal’. Take care hon 🤗💕

    1. I’ll have to wait for the surprise later, Brian. Just back from a 10 km hike, cooked him fry up and now collapsed with the phone and my feet up. Possibly apple crumble later. I have custard 🤣🤣

      1. We’re all well and once my son was home my extreme anxiety fell away. Most surreal of times, finding peace in the natural landscape, being with immediate family. Miss seeing my mother so much though, although chat over the fence whilst delivering food! I haven’t been able to write much although shared a couple of posts. Oh, my friend and I are learning a language and I’ve picked Portuguese! Loving it, just SO many accents! 😀😀

      2. Fantastic! Please don’t get more proficient than me. I’ll be embarrassed 🤣🤣. My days are mostly walks and up on the roof. Sadly I don’t know when we’ll see our youngsters other than Skype. 😒💕

  4. Red is my favourite colour, and what’s not to like about poppies 🙂 Last summer I had three which mysteriously appeared at the bottom of my back garden – they were beautiful but a couple of days later they disappeared again. They wouldn’t have died so quickly so I’m convinced a neighbour’s kids climbed over the fence stole them 😦 😦

P.S I know you’re a busy lady but Karen/Kaz has the most delightful post today. I thought it was going to be a suare -hee! hee! – when I opened it, but it’s not.

      1. Their English name is Crown Daisy (some call them corn marigolds) – scientific name is Glebionis segetum or Chrysanthemum coronarium/segeutum. My Mediterranean flower books either use one or t’other.

    1. The struggling was mostly to find a ‘hook’ to Becky’s theme and 6WS, but mostly anything goes, doesn’t it? They’re very forgiving ladies. And I just wanted to share the poppies 🙂 🙂 Washer on next then out for a wander, I think. Happy Saturday, Margaret!
