Six word Saturday

Her Mum can’t paint for toffee!

Following my Thursday’s Special post I had many requests for more of Lisa’s artwork.  I cannot do justice to her lovely home but this is a small sample of it’s beauty.  Alternative six words- Is it any wonder I’m proud?  Take your pick!

I won’t be here next Saturday.  Poor me, I’ll be languishing in the Algarve heat.  Take good care of yourselves, and don’t forget to keep the six words going.  Debbie’s relying on you.

  1. Beautiful artwork!! That couldn’t be easy to paint on a vertical surface. I wonder, when one is painting a mural, does she use regular house paint?

  2. As we would say in the States, I can’t paint for beans, but my uncle is a professional and well-known water color artist, still working at 90! We have a daughter who went to art school, so I guess those genes skipped a generation. 🙂 Have a great weekend.

  3. As Meg says, Lisa captures the sense of hover perfectly with those birds and butterflies. The flowers (rock peonies?) are exquisite too. Does she sell her artwork then Jo?

      1. She is very talented. Some of her work would look good printed as in covers for notebooks etc. She should get in touch with Gilly.

  4. They are really good. Not my décor style I have to say but there is no doubting the quality of the work. Enjoy the Algarve, I am away to Ireland where I am not so optimistic about the weather!

    1. Certainly not to everyone’s taste, Andrew, but the whole house is a statement of who she is and the things she loves. 🙂 🙂 I’ll keep my fingers crossed for you. Whereabouts this time?

  5. Jo,thank you so much for sharing some more of Lisa’s artwork! These are glorious and a wonderful way to start the day! 😀 The red bird one is so striking, I was trying to guess what type it is. Ahh…I have a great time in Portugal! 😀

  6. LIsa’s artwork is amazing. So life-like and I love how bold the colours are. Enjoy your time off, Jo. It is extremely cold here in Melbourne, Australia and we could use some of your heat. Happy summer, and have a good week 🙂

    1. It’s been an atrocious week of weather, Mabel, and I felt like it would never be time to go! Got a little heat back today, so I’m in the garden, acclimatising 🙂 🙂 My daughter absolutely amazes me.

  7. Wow. What amazing artistry. Are these painted on the wall? What daring and what delight and be proud and know she came from your gene pool. She paints “hover” beautifully – the bird and the butterfly are perfectly poised between stillness and motion – and what colours!

I’m sending you hugs from a pub in Casino as I wait for my dinner. Daren’t touch the wine yet – I haven’t eaten since breakfast. Next three nights

    1. Thanks so much for popping in, Meg. 🙂 🙂 Yes, hand painted on the living room wall. The bathroom ceiling is even more beautiful but I don’t have a good photo. Enjoy your celebrations! It’s been a ‘dreich week’ but we finally have a little sun back. love and hugs zooming your way. 🙂

  8. Wow! Beautiful and amazing. I can’t paint for toffee either and can’t even imagine how you start something like that!
Have a great time in the Algarve Jo – I’ll be in Edinburgh so somewhat cooler methinks!

    1. Hard to give the full effect because there are beautifully framed photos on all the other walls and the reflections/light intrude, but you get the general idea. 🙂 🙂 Thanks, Anabel! Have a good weekend. We did start with a glimmer of sun, but it’s gone again. 😦
