A sequence for Sue

I don’t generally do requests, but when a lovely lady asks it would be churlish to refuse.  Our capricious English weather has produced wonderful gardens this year, as you might have seen in my Open Gardens walk this week.  There’s currently a bee fest going on in my own garden, where the foxgloves are rampant.  An oriental poppy, planted last year, has just decided to swirl its skirts and join the party.

A fan of faded glory and all things derelict, when I mentioned it Sue surprised me by saying ‘I love pink oriental poppies.  Take a photo for me!’  So here we are.  I’m easing off the brake pedal a bit this week.  There won’t be a Six Word Saturday from me as I’ll be in Nottingham, enjoying my daughter’s company.  Before I go I’ll schedule a walk for next Monday, and catch up with you as soon as I can.  Enjoy the sunshine!

  1. So gorgeous those oriental poppies! Sadly enough, I can’t keep them in my garden. Still just the sight of them here makes my day :)!

    1. I may well owe you an email, Gilly, but we’ll have a catch up after the weekend, if that’s ok. I’m glad to think that you might not be wrapped up in sorrow now, though you’re bound to miss them all the time. Sending hugs, hon. 🙂 🙂

      1. Well, as I commented on another blog {Notes from the UK], it’s baffling, it’s frustrating, and it’s – to my mind – very poorly desdigned software.

    1. I was out walking at Richmond this morning and it was like a poppy spotting expedition. I found some beauties. Maybe a post for yet another day 🙂 🙂 Thanks, darlin. I haven’t seen Lisa since October so I’m really looking forward to it.

  5. Gorgeous Jo – that’s about all I can say. Okay one other thing, wish I was there to see them in person, just a beautiful collection of these poppies.

    1. Glad you like them, Sue 🙂 🙂 I’ve just come back from a riverside walk at Richmond and there were heaps more out and about. Skinny, frilly ones I’ve not seen before and some soft coral ones. No, don’t! This could become a recurring theme 🙂

      3. The exhibition was at the British Museum, a fairly short taxi ride from Farringdon station where I travelled to from home. It was so hot, I thought it was best to conserve what energy I could!
