Putting on a show, at Harrogate
All my old favourites, and some new folks too, all in impeccable condition. That’s what I expect of a flower show, and Harrogate delivered.
And more than that, a fashion show. The floral art had a sewing theme. Simply stunning, don’t you think?
There was so much more, but that’s quite enough for a Six Word Saturday. I think it might do to celebrate Earth Day too. Have a beautiful weekend, and look after your patch of earth!

A burst of color and creativity! The indoor orchids of our current house are starting to bloom again as well. So pretty! Happy Earth Day!

Beautiful, Jude would love the tulips, be a great place to buy the special ones. Despite the glorious orchids, my favourite is the elegant blue poppy. I’ve always liked them and tried to grow one a couple of times but failed! Happy Saturday babe x:-)x

That plum and white orchid came home with me. The one we had was ‘sleeping’. 🙂 🙂 I’m wild about the poppies too, but never had much luck with them.

Jude does like the tulips and the Himalayan blue poppy. I think they are hard to grow, but I might be tempted to have a go. Must check out what they like. Rosemoor has some lovely ones if you fancy a visit.

I’m sure we attempted the blue poppy one year and lost it. 😦 Mick went round the show going ‘we used to have one of those’ to half the plants! 🙂 🙂

Haha… that image made me smile. So how many made their way home with you?

Only 3- we’re not big splurgers 🙂 🙂 The plum and white orchid because our last one is in hibernation and we’ve had it a long time, £18, a lovely yellow and crimson iris called Pogo, but I knocked one of the flowers off on the way home ( 😦 ), planted in the garden this morning, before the icy blasts get here, £4.50 and a primula Mick liked in black and gold, £4.00. Not too bad! 🙂 Happy Sunday!

Glorious, Cathy! The skies were a bit stormy and grey but inside the floral pavilion it was heady Summer. 🙂 Thanks, hon! How are you doing? I bet the weeks are flying.

Yes, Jo, the weeks are flying. What with my long work days (9 hours where I don’t have a moment to rest) and my expeditions, the first month has gone by in a flash. It’s hard to believe I only have 3 more months here. It makes me a bit crazy, looking at my list of places to see and realizing there is no way I will manage to squeeze even a small portion of them in! But I’m having fun, that’s for sure. 🙂

It was better in the Valley Gardens, Kate, but a victim of it’s own success (and a little greed 😦 ). Still a wonderful spectacle though. 🙂

What a celebration of the floral world. Your photos are spectacular: that pink rose is my favourite I think. Very different from my walk in the bush. The earth needs a millennium and more plus mega wisdom which is in pretty short supply. I hope your Sunday is spectacular too.

I used to love this show when it was in the old fashioned Valley Gardens, Meg. It’s lost a little character now but you can’t fault the flowers. It was late when we got back after a Thai meal with James and his lady. Zumba and assorted tasks have left me weary so a quiet afternoon is planned, watching Rafa burn up the tennis court. Fingers crossed 🙂 🙂 Blooming great big hugs! 🙂
