What can I tell you?
Whisper it very softly
Watch her like a hawk!
She doesn’t mean any harm
Don’t cry fish! It’s not so bad.
I always find fascination in the National Glass Centre at Sunderland. Sometimes I can find Juxtaposition too. But today I wanted something to please my Lazy Poet friend, Gilly. She’s been sad lately.
The glass looks lovely. I went to Uni in Sunderland but I think it was the national glass center was fully developed 1995-98.
What beautiful art!! And lovely poem to go with☺☺❤❤
Fabulous, isn’t it? 🙂 My friend Gilly writes haiku and I was trying to cheer her up.
Absolutely fabulous!!☺☺❤❤
Wow Jo – these are awesome! I wish I had that talent. xxx
Talent! I have no idea what that is in relation to me, Dianne, but I’m good at admiring it in others. 🙂 I really loved that first piece.
Jo, those first images of faces etched in glass, I saw some in Tallinn and I took shots of them. Where did you take the shots?
At the National Glass Centre in Sunderland, Lynne. Fabulous, aren’t they? 🙂
I almost purchased one.
Snap! X
Wowsers Jo, these are fabulous! The faces, especially the first which looks like a Bedouin woman are gorgeous, imagine having a talent like that. Thank you for being lovely you x:-)x
I can’t begin to conceive how you make something like that, Gilly. She was my favourite too. 🙂 🙂
Have you posted photos from there before?
Yes, a couple of times. It’s a place I really love going. 🙂
I like the last one…maybe if I need to change my logo, I could use that fish!!
That’s a good idea! I know a good chip shop too 🙂 🙂
These are cool glass statues, and I love how you have framed them, so the photos become an interpretation of their own.
Thanks, Otto. The setting, alongside the River Wear and the docks, does make for some interesting shots, and I love the glassware. 🙂
These would make anyone smile. They’re just amazing Jo. xo
Glad you like them xx
The fish don’t appeal to me so much, but the faces and the owls are magnificent!
Alison.
It’s the faces for me, Alison, and especially that first one. She almost followed me home. 🙂
I can see why! She’s beautiful.
Stunning pieces Jo, and superbly juxtaposed. What a beautiful gesture to cheer Gilly up…you are such a sweetheart💕
She’s a lovely friend Madhu. And I’ve been keeping these to myself for too long. Hugs darlin xx
And so are you darling, thank you xx
Thanks, Gilly. 🙂 How are you doing?
I’m okay, Nina, Scarlett and Layla have been her since Wednesday, but left a couple of hours ago. They’re the best cheerer uppers ever!
I can imagine. 🙂 I half expected a haiku on Thursday but obviously you had your hands full. Keeping busy is probably just as well.
Isn’t she Madhu? and she’s spot on, these are right up my street!
Mine too:)
There are obviously some talented glass makers in Sunderland. Is there a history of the craft in the area? 😉
There used to be glass bottle factories along the coast (resulting in the prevalence of sea glass on some of the beaches 🙂 ).
I have always loved the beauty of glass, but these pieces really take it to a new level. Gorgeous, Jo, thank you for taking us here.
I can’t begin to imagine how you make glass behave like this, Jet. It’s simply incredible to me. 🙂
Truly amazing art, Jo! If I would be a fish out of the water I’d cry as well. Hope your friend will feel better soon!
Thanks Liesbet! And for making me smile too xx
