An old, fisherman’s table
Rusted now and all forlorn
‘Gainst the shimmering
Stealing my title from Gilly this morning, but I know she won’t mind. I’m just sharing a last few soothing Algarve images before I return to the real world. If you’ve never met Gilly, you’re in for a treat. Go and say hello!

Thanks for recommending Gillies site Jo. It’s beautiful!

Those bridge reflections are marvellous. I love the contrast you’ve captured in your haiku. Many hugs from Warsaw as thaw sets in 9° yesterday according to one report.

J reckons the grass is greening as the snow melts. I went back to my photos of arrival time a year ago to see what is about to happen. On-the-threshold-of-spring hugs.

It’s just down the road from the spot with the flat calm that you liked, Peta, but this place gets busy in Summer. 🙂

We’ve had 3 seasons in one day here at home, Annalisa. I have to keep looking at the Algarve to cheer myself up 🙂 🙂 Ciao, bella!

I think you should have put up a warning “Sunglasses required”. The first image is a dazzler! I have noticed how often your Algarve blue skies are completely devoid of clouds! We’ve had some gorgeous cornflower-blue summer skies this week, but always with clouds around. Never mind, it feels like spring already… 🙂

I was just saying to Susan that we’ve had a bit of everything today but my connection was interrupted and now t’Internet’s playing silly b’s 🙂 🙂 You know how that feels! We went to Fountain’s Abbey under droopy skies 🙂 Snowdrops out though!

I do indeed. We have just got yet another new router and touch wood, this seems to be a bit happier! I love the idea of droopy skies 😀

So soothing. I am right now looking at gray skies and the beginning of rain, so the sun was a pleasant momentary escape. Thanks!

We’ve been through grey skies and rain, back into sunshine and now… clouds 🙂 🙂 Did somebody mention changeable? We did have a lovely walk today but it wasn’t in the sunny bit!

Not serene this morning . . .it is glorious this morning but very windy. Think MrB is going to have a bumpy landing in an hour.

I love the openness of this, how the adjective becomes a noun and thereby floats away into the future. Beautifully written, Jo and thank you for sharing – the stillness of your haiku rests well with me. I’m now off to see your friend, Gilly!

Love that last photo too with the spark of red, deep blues and neutral tones ….. the patterns in the water ……. I feel a painting coming on!
