I came home from Poland to a few days of lovely weather, which even saw me having breakfast in the garden one morning. The clouds are back now but I just made it to the cliff tops at Seaham in time to catch a few wild orchids to add to Jude’s collection of Wildflowers.

What I’ve been missing. Orchids!!! And that lovely landscape shot in the middle.

Did you see Becky’s totally amazing collection in the Algarve? You would be impressed! The cowslips were thick on the cliff top. The orchids a bit shy but then quite brazen. 🙂 🙂

How do I find Becky’s? I’m lazy, if you can direct me quickly. Otherwise I’ll take the slow way.

The left bottom white and yellow flower is so pretty, Jo! How is it in Poland now – do they also deal with refugees, as many of the European countries?
LikeLike
There were heaps of cowslips, Jesh! The insects love them. 🙂 My language problems prevent me from getting involved in political conversations so I don’t really know the answer, as regards refugees.

My mistake – I thought you spoke Polish well:)

Sadly not. Life is a constant frustration in Poland. 🙂

They’re not welcoming at a government level, and utter some absurd claims – they bring diseases that don’t affect them, only us; they take our women. However, as everywhere, there are welcomers. The have been acts of violence, one against a man who’d lived here for years, but looked “foreign”, which attracted bystanders but not intervention, except for one woman who rang the police. So I’ve read in desultory articles.

Orchids AND cowslips? How lucky are you! I never see orchids in the wild 😦

They obviously like our north east climate. 🙂

Limestone? Don’t wild orchids like that type of chalky alkaline soil? Maybe the soil around here is too fertile. I will keep a look out though.

I just love that colour purple, Jo. My mother-in-law has something very similar in her garden and she gave me a bunch the other day and then another bunch five minutes later – she’s suffering from dementia, but she’s such a sweetheart 🙂

I watched a TV documentary on dementia last night and it has me determined to learn Polish. Apparently learning a language is one of several self-help options. Come to think of it- that’s what I should be doing right now 🙂 🙂

I love wild orchids! The other flower, the cowslip, is a great substitute for tea with lemon 🙂

I’m not ‘wild’ about tea, though I don’t mind it with lemon. I’m one of those terrible coffee addicts (and please don’t think Starbucks/Costa coffee 😦 ) but I do love orchids. 🙂 🙂
