I think I’d better dedicate this to Festival of Leaves, while a few still linger! It’s been a wild one, but not quite so bad as expected in my part of the world. Good enough anyway to let me visit Lumiere at Durham last night without getting soaked. If you get chance, do go! It’s on until Sunday evening and our sea glass wave was beautiful. Then I came home to yet another horror story from Paris on the news. What is our world coming to?
I hope you can enjoy a peaceful weekend. These are the last of my photos from the Lakes. On Monday I will be sharing one last walk and then taking a couple of weeks off. Ah, Jo. What an end indeed. Such shocking news. But we can’t let them win by hiding away indoors. You and I grew up during troublesome times; though I’d hoped by now the world could live in peace. It seems that there is always someone with hatred in their heart. Enjoy your time with Lisa (another visit to Chatsworth on the cards?) and soak up some sun in the Algarve – you there for Christmas? Or home again? I think I’d stay there until April 😉

April is seriously tempting but it’s only a 10 day visit (sob!) Chatsworth (and Wind in the Willows 🙂 ) will be weather dependant as Lisa will be driving. Another cooking Christmas for me, and then we have Polish family coming. Going to enjoy this while I can 🙂 🙂

Ooh, Polish family visit sounds fun! Christmas cooking not so. I don’t bother with all that any more, OH and I usually have a fillet steak and a very expensive bottle of red 😀

Whenever I see trees like those I have to feel them because ones that look soft often aren’t and vice versa. Your photos are gorgeous sweetie, as is your haiku. Hope you get to do a little tipsy tilting yourself next week 🙂

Hi Jo, wonderful pretty pictures again. Fall is setting in there, we will get down into the 40’sF for the first time since last March here. Brrr.
Now wonder you visit the Algarve so much, daughters have a pull, don’t they. That is why we moved this summer down to be near our youngest, a daughter. Enjoy your visit!!

How beautifully wild and my favourite tree – the Tamarac. I prefer nature’s wildness over mans anytime …je suis tres triste pour Paris et tout le monde.

Yes, she is there on a two year work visa. She is having a grand time but finds the weather a tad on the chilly side. Given the circumstances of Friday it’s hard not to worry but we are constantly in touch via Skype and Whatsapp.

My son and his wife were in Paris 2 weeks ago. They stayed near the restaurant. This also reminded me of the time when I was in Athens and Cyprus + Macarios debacle happened. WE were held up for 5 days in state of emergency before we could escape the war there.

The world just seems to get crazier! But the people behind this know exactly what they are trying to do and their indiscriminate use of youths to achieve it are criminal and frightening for all of us. Sending hugs to you and yours.

Yes, I part wrote the post in anticipation of a busy evening, Viv. It was horrendous to arrive home full of joy and put the TV on to that! Impossible to understand or condone, isn’t it?
