Reflections for me almost always mean water. I have lots of examples, but I don’t like to be too predictable. This week the opportunity came along to play with a different kind of reflection.
On Saturday mornings I usually go to zumba. I arrived this week to find the floor littered with feathers. The cause? A Burlesque Night in aid of our local Macmillan nurses. Jaki, our teacher, regularly fund raises for the hospice and has completed the Great North Run marathon on their behalf for the past several years. She has an enormous sense of fun and, in the corners of the room, distortion mirrors beamed back at us. It was quite hard to focus on zumba!
Of course, I have to protect the innocent so my shots can’t be too revealing.
Unlike some, Sadie, Jaki’s beloved poodle, doesn’t have any problems being caught on camera.
Isn’t she a scene stealer? You can say hi to Jaki and the girls on Centre Yoga’s Facebook page.
Now it’s time for me to go and see what’s special with Paula this Thursday. The theme is Reflection if you want to join in. Paula’s duck looks very pensive.
Aww I just love the cute dog Jo makes me a little homesick for my own schnoodle back in Perth though! I used to do Zumba too but my back was a little wonky so I stick to pilates and walking now. I could never do the moves like our teacher she was amazing ( from Brazil). Have a lovely weekend 😃

Hi Jo am now up in Yorkshire just put a quick update on the blog even managed to use the iPad wordpress app so very pleased that seems to have worked! Can’t say the weather has been that great but at least I didn’t plan on it being warm and sunny! Yesterday was lovely even some warmth in the sun but today…less said the better. Hope you have a lovely Easter weekend too 😃

Lovely reflections in your images and your words, Jo. It is amazing how there are so many different ways to support those in need. The Macmillan nurses seem like a very worthy cause.

Jaki loves to have a good time but she does a lot of fund raising, too, Ann. She is a thoroughly nice lady. Impossible not to enjoy her zumba class 🙂

I try to avoid standing in front of the mirrors at my gym. It’s hard enough to concentrate and keep up without catching sight of myself. Happy Easter!

Hate them too! 🙂 I don’t do ‘gym’ but we occasionally have t’ai chi there and as you say…very off-putting! Happy Easter to you too 🙂

I do regular classes and the last thing I want to see is myself jumping around the place…very unsightly!

Oh what fun and very creative take on ‘reflection’. We have those crazy mirrors in the halls at our rec center; I can’t decide if I like them or hate them !!!

She’s adorable, Tanya. 🙂 I think she’d have a go at zumba too, if Jaki would let her.

I bet that ‘Burlesque Night’ was a lot of raunchy fun. Feather boas are so glamorous…… until they start to shed feathers everywhere. Little Sadie is adorable. 🙂

Can you believe I missed the Burlesque Night itself, Ad? Don’t know what I was thinking of! Jaki said ‘just bring a safety pin- I’ve got the tassles’ 🙂 🙂 Scary!

Hahaha……Sounds like quite a lark. With your Zumba moves and a couple of swinging tassels, you could have been the star of the show. 😯

I always loved the sense of fun behind a feather boa. But I don’t love the feathers.
Lovely photos though. Sadie is adorable.
