A new exhibition

Magdalene Odundo exhibit, National Glass Centre

Magdalene Odundo exhibit,  National Glass Centre, Sunderland

Last week I suggested that it was a great time of year to visit museums.  One of my very favourites in the North East of England is the National Glass Centre at Sunderland.  I’m always excited to see the new creations and exhibitions.

The shot above is of Magdalene Odundo’s Transition II and you can see a video of its creation on the link.  It was captivating seen from any angle.

I love the shadows, rippling across the floor

Of course, I couldn’t resist the lure of the display cabinets and the new items in there.

Isn't this a lovely piece?

And, naturally. there were owls!

And joyful elephants- why not?

I imagine you can see just why I love going there.  Maybe we’ll pop in again on my Monday walk, next week.

    1. Thanks, Paula 🙂 I did think about using this for TS but it is so totally unrelated. I had quite a nice dusk that I took in the marina the other day but I took it on my phone and it has come out tiny. I’m a spud when it comes to settings and real photography.

      1. It would have worked too, owls are awake at dusk 😀 I am so pleasantly surprised with these captures you took today. You must be aware how good they are.

    1. Thank you very much, Emilio! I appreciate that. My camera knows who’s in charge 🙂 (and it’s not me 🙂 ) But I loved the exhibit. I almost wanted to crawl around the floor looking for angles (but the lady herself was there)

  2. Jo I also wanted to give you the heads up that this post is showing up oddly in WP Reader. There is no title or photo just the opening lines of the post. i have no explanation as to why that would happen but it took me a bit to get to your site.

    1. All those pieces must have taken forever to position, Poppy! Sue suggested she couldn’t keep her fingers off. It would be tempting to play ping pong with them, don’t you think? 🙂
