Joy is… a beach and a blue sky!

Joy is... the wide blue horizon

Joy is… the wide blue horizon

An empty beach

An empty beach

The retreating tide

The retreating tide

The roll of the waves

The roll of the waves

Reflections in the sand

Reflections in the sand

A couple of fishermen

A fisherman or two

Just a puff of cloud

A few puffs of cloud

Patterns in the sand

Patterns in the wet sand

Buried treasure?

Buried treasure?

Even the clouds don't trouble me

Even the gathering clouds can’t dim my joy

For many weeks I’ve been meaning to join Kan on her lovely series Joy is…  This week she charmed me with her preparations for Diwali.  I knew it was time to share with her what joy is for me.  I know that she likes the simple things in life, and I hope that she loves beaches.  This is my local one- the simple life for me.

Please do visit her at Kan Walk Will Travel.  It’s a beautiful and joyous place.  And looking back at this post, I think it might well qualify for Paula’s Thursday’s Special, in which she visits Lake Czorsztyn in Poland.  I’ve been there so I know that it’s pretty special.

  1. Hi, there – girlfriend!!! I can see you in your lovely images that you really felt joy. Truly beautiful and my favorites is the wracked wood – to find beauty in the less beautiful.
I hope everything is okay with you … and Mr. Haven’t been out and about with Oscar for a long time. I think we both did a break. US was intense. *smile

    1. Hi sweetheart! I was going to come looking for you today as we’ve lost track a bit 🙂 Life just zips past, doesn’t it? We were walking in the the woods this morning. There are still remnants of beautiful colour about but the Nordics don’t wait very long. 🙂 Easier on the beach but Mr. gets impatient too 🙂 Hugs!

      1. Jo, when walking with a camera … it’s best to be alone or have somebody with a mad camera too. I have the same problems with my friends. *smile
I have to look up what Nordics are all about.
Don’t worry about catching up with my postings – no must at all. I only wanted to know if things are okay in your end and they are … *smile

  4. Hello Jo 🙂 You may guess I am full of joy to have this post submitted to my TS today. You are quite a photographer, you know that? It was very difficult to choose the capture I want to display 😀 THANK YOU 🙂 🙂

  5. I absolutely agree about the beach and the blue sky, Jo – that is a pure joy! I am one of those people who can wander along the shore for hours in different seasons and feel like in the 7th heaven 🙂
Your beautiful, uplifting pictures made my day complete – I just returned from catching sunrise on the beach.

    1. That sounds magical, Ese 🙂 It’s a good 40 minute stroll from here to get to that beach (but just 10 mins in the car) so I am never there that early. Shame though because it would be amazing. Sunset, maybe 🙂

      1. It was sheer beauty and not far at all – 10 minutes walk. Must admit a rather sleepless night was a good motivator to get outside just after 6AM otherwise…well, I would definitely still be in bed in that hour. 🙂
