1 Day 1 World Project : 10.00- 11.00pm

My favourite clematis

My favourite clematis

Just got time to squeeze this in, before another week takes over!  I wasn’t quite so adventurous this week, although it was another lovely evening and I would like to have been out and about.

I kept an eye on the time as dusk gently descended and just after 10.00pm, I went upstairs to look out of the back bedroom window.  There are a couple of spotlights in the garden that make it rather pretty on an evening.  Then into the garden for a close up.  It had rained quite hard at teatime and everything had a soft sheen.  Sorry I haven’t really managed to capture it for you.

And very close!

Who knows- next week it’ll probably be the cup of cocoa!  I can’t remember when I had one last.

What were you up to between 10.00 and 11.00pm this week?  Lisa would really like to know. Follow her project on this link.

  1. I agree with Lisa – looks like a delightful secret garden, and your first clematis is a real beauty! I’m hoping some night workers will join in after next week – unless I am woken by emergency road works (1:30 am) again I probably won’t be posting until it is dawn time!

    1. It’s a lovely little space at night, Jude. You can’t see all the rambly bits then. 🙂 Mick tends to like ‘live and let live’ when in comes to the plants. (not the slugs, but I don’t think they like us anyway!) I wander round snipping when he’s not looking.

  2. Beautiful night shots, Jo! These lovely flowers make me think of a secret garden, blooming quietly when everyone is in bed and the light mist from the rain ads to the mystery. 🙂 Thanks for sharing your hour with us!

    1. Ahh, that’s how you do it, Sue! If I took my laptop to bed I’d never sleep. I have to be weaned away from it somewhere around 10.30- 11, then I take my book in the bath till my eyes start to close. Can’t tell you how many soggy library books I’ve had to return! 🙂

  3. The photo of that clematis is gorgeous! At first, I thought it might be a variety of Passion flower. I’m so envious that you still have some light left in night sky at 10pm. When our sun sets over the foothills at 8:30, it is DARK, and I could use longer days 🙂

  4. I’ve never thought of taking photos of my garden at night but I do like the effect you have here Jo! I love the way you captured the rain drops too, lovely. Did you see lots of snails and slugs while out and about? My garden is riddled with them 😉

    1. Not a snail or slug in sight! I think my husband has a secret weapon 🙂
The photo quality isn’t great, Sherri, but it’s enough to give the general idea. I went for ‘ambience’ 🙂
