I’m very often admiring of the door knockers and handles in the Algarve, and when I saw the subject of Cee’s photo challenge this week- well, you just knew I’d want to share them, didn’t you? They’re so elegant.
Thanks, Cee, for giving me another excuse to revisit a wonderful holiday. That’s it! No more. (well, not till the next time, anyway)
Off now to check out some more entries to Cee’s Fun Foto Challenge. Click the link and come with me.

Wow, great knockers!

So I’ve heard, Kongo. 🙂 Many thanks.

Good thing Cee did not post knobs; I could have been tempted to enter the challenge 😀 😉 I love your knockers Jo – exquisite all of them 😀

Yes, I do have nice knockers but the legs are better, Paula. 🙂
Cee obviously knows you all too well.

Then you must show us your legs at the earliest opportunity :D. Cee hardly knows me … as I removed the like button I have no interaction with her 😀

It was naughty of you to remove the like button, but typical, I rather think. 🙂

Hey, this is the 2nd time you call me naughty!! I know I am younger, but still … 😉
On a more serious note, I don’t see point in crazy clicking the like button, if people have something to say, they will say it; I don’t care about likes.. I love stars instead :). Now, why is it typical that I have removed the like button .. is it cause I am an Aquarius?

Substitute suggestive, please. I hate to repeat myself 🙂
I imagine you wouldn’t have much patience with the likes, just the “constructive comments” (or loud and spontaneous applause 🙂 )
I’m not sure if Cee’s reason is to do with the number of challenges she runs, or to do with the illness.

They are well designed and carefully made knockers! The old hand knockers are elegant. Thank you, Joanna!

Ok! Those hands are a little bit creepy! I can’t imagine grabbing hold of one of those to knock, enter, or exit! But love the ornate head banger 🙂

You wouldn’t have to knock, hon. I’d sweep the door open the second I saw you 🙂
He’s a little crazy, isn’t he?

There are loads of them in the Algarve, Eunice. Not all as fancy as this. 🙂

They are so beautiful and in-your-face. The artist must have been laughing while he was making the knockers and handles. 🙂

Me too, TBM 🙂 The top one is outrageous! The owner of the cafe with the white doors and silver handles had a sense of humour too. When he saw me lining up the shot, he very poker-facedly said “I’m sorry miss. I charge for that”. For a second I believed him.

Wow indeed Johanna, those door knocker are pieces of art. I think the only place where I saw elaborate door knockers like this was in Florence. I didn”t checked yet all your travel destinations so maybe you already have something about this somewhere ?
Happy monday dear !

They put a lot of thought into their knobs in the Algarve. Obviously stood the test of time too.

I always look carefully at Algarve doors, Sartenada, because many of them have the “hand of Fatima” style, which I love. Thank you 🙂
