And back!
As you can see from the centre photos, the weather was quite temperamental when we were last in the Algarve. I suspect that will not be the case this trip, as it’s in the 30’s currently. Oddly enough the Summer has arrived in the UK too (yes, even the north east!) so I won’t have to feel guilty about leaving my English friends shivering. It’s a win! win! situation.
So looking forward to dabbling my toes, and sharing special birthday celebrations with my husband. (his- I’m just a youngster- secret smile ) I also have a treat in store. For a couple of days I’m playing hostess to Cathy or Catbird as some of you will know her. Having left Oman she is now romping her way around Spain, and then Portugal, before returning home to the States. Her exhausting itinerary is here, but won’t it be fun?
Enjoy Six word Saturday, as well as the weather, while I’m gone. Many thanks to Cate at Show My Face. Back soon!

How wonderful that you are meeting up with Cathy! Look forward to reading all about it on both your blogs. In the meantime have a great time in Tavira Jo. And wish hubby a very happy birthday from me 🙂

Thanks, Madhu. Watching the Wimbledon final and answering comments when I should be putting the bag ready and organising our son. He starts a new job in Leeds tomorrow and hasn’t got accommodation fully sorted. No pressure!
It will be so good to be away. 🙂

Have a wonderful trip and birthday celebration! Think we’ve also now found somewhere to stay in Cabanas, but not until 20th 🙂

Too hot to be anywhere but the sea? Cabanas is an ok base, especially for that. Enjoy! We can compare notes when we’re home. 🙂
I’m trying to watch Murray and answer my comments before we have to throw some bits in a bag and hit the airport.

Happy Birthday to your Husband, Jo. I feel like a stranger here at 6WS, it has been so long. I know you will like Algarve from what I’ve briefly seen here and on WikiP just today. We hadn’t been to Portugal at all until last year, then on a cruise from Southampton we did the Canary Island thing, and saw Tenerife, Gran Canaria, Lanzarote, and La Palma. So I count that as Portugal.
We are in London now, arriving yesterday noon. We intend to see Wales and visit friends in Northampton. Another couple has invited us to Sarlat-la-Canéda (France) to visit with them at their summer home. They live in their winter home across the lake from us in Texas. Our daughter and granddaughter went to Nice, Fr, for the weekend so we haven’t seen them yet.
Again, enjoy your holiday,
..

Wow, how wonderful …. enjoy yourself .. and delight yourself.
Leeds, fantastic city … one of my favorite in UK, but it was a bit on the wrong side … of the country. Many chances for sin in that city.
Why do you feel shy ????? You lost me there.

How nice of you to mention my trip, Jo! I just arrived in Mollina, a town inland and a little west from Malaga. Sunday, I’ll be in Ronda, Monday in Seville, etc….. It’s almost as hot as Oman here! (Not quite, really!) It was a lovely drive today from Toledo to Malaga.
I’m so looking forward to our visit!! I still don’t know how I’ll get there, but now I’m thinking a train and that bus; maybe Marianne can help me. I’m hesitant to rent a car again. I had no problems, at least on my end , but Europcar tried to tell me there is a chip out of the windshield that wasn’t there before and they’ll let me know if they’re going to charge me. I never had anything hit the windshield while I was driving the car!!
Anyway, I’m sure you’re happy to be arriving in Tavira! Happy birthday to your husband and enjoy the sunny days!! And definitely you should have a secret smile as your hubby turns a year older and you remain a youngster! 🙂

Thanks, Cath! I think the hire companies sometimes try it on, specially with a woman on her own. Not fair, is it? Anyway, you’ll soon be on the tour so not so much to worry about. 🙂

I know, Jo, that whole thing with Europcar left a bad taste in my mouth. I don’t like it when people try to rip me off!!
Yes, I’m on the tour now, and it’s really so nice to be taken care of by someone else for a while. Just dealing with logistics in travel can be so anxiety-producing! I’m still a little anxious about getting from here to there to meet you, but I’m sure it will fall into place; it always does. I had a lot of anxiety about meeting up with Tour Andalucia, but it somehow worked out! 🙂
