I’m looking at greyness out of the window again, but I’m determined to see colour. It’s Icelandic poppy time of year. How fabulous are these?
So there you are. Monday doesn’t have to be grey.
Have a good week!

I wish we had some in our garden, Amy. These were in gardens I pass on Saturday mornings on the way to zumba. 🙂

Hi Jo,
I really love poppies. We have the big bright orange ones, and just as they fade, we have six foot tall pink and lavender poppies. Smaller yellow ones grow like weeds, but they are so pretty when in bloom, that I let them stay. Thanks for sharing–beautiful photos, beautiful flowers!

That sounds fabulous, Naomi! I had to lean over garden walls and peer through fences to capture mine. 🙂

When I was a child there was making little ballerinas, flipping the flower to make a Tutu and tying it with a blade of grass … wheat fields then were filled and rosseggiavano hills … now there are far fewer, thanks for that beautiful memory that I have reported in the eye

Probably said before, but poppies are my favourite flowers. They look so fragile, but come back year after year.
I love to see them in the wild in the hedgerows and cornfields around here.

Now how did I know that was your post when I saw the pix come up on Reader? They are lovely. I have one in my garden that snuck in from wherever but it wasn’t in flower last week. Maybe later.

Funny how you can recognise people’s style, isn’t it? The title would have done equally well for the Steampunk event I attended on HMS Trincomalee yesterday. Now I’ll have to think of another. 🙂
