Weekly Photo Challenge : Colour

How do you like your colour- strong or weak?

I find that I have a distinct preference for the pastel and washed out tones.

And it wouldn't be complete without my favourite bridge, and we're back with the subtle colour.

I think that’s it!  The full spectrum of colours for me.  Which would you choose?

Check out the other entries on this week’s Daily Post Weekly Photo Challenge.  I’m just a little bit earlier this week.

  1. I like your take on the subject, and I love that second photo of the stormy sea, it’s beautiful. The North Sea often looks grey and yet there are so many subtle shades and textures in it, I don’t think I’d ever tire of looking at it and I always love to see your watery pictures.

    1. When I saw the subject I thought “hmm, I’m not too fussed on colour, don’t think I’ll bother”, and then last minute (as ever) I found myself pulling it together, Lorna.
Thank you so much (and for the RT too- I just spotted it)

  2. I like them weak, I like them strong, I like them in all of their shades… A beautiful collection, Jo, and a gorgeous sun-kissing sea surface to close it šŸ™‚

  3. Love your color choices. Some times you want the soft peaceful qualities and sometimes you want the bold excitement of bright colors.

    BE ENCOURAGED! BE BLESSED!

  4. Excellent interpretation. This one has left me cold – the challenge, not your photos. I look at the curtains in front of me, and think yeah, they’re colour! or the purple sleeping bag, or the different colouring of the dog’s fur. But nothing strikes me as worth a post. Now, if monochrome/B&W was the theme I could manage it. Anyway, long-winded way of saying why I enjoyed your post.

I liked the last two and the medieval gold one especially.

    1. If I had to pick a favourite, it’d probably be a different one every day, Rough. Delete restless, substitute indecisive, but I can’t steal the name from Elaine.

Thank you for liking it anyway. I’m just whispering this you understand but I’m not sure where I stand on the challenges. If you have plenty of ideas of your own, use them. If not, say nowt?

  5. Lovely photos. First, looking at your soft colours, I thought Yes, that’s how I like them. Then, looking at the bold colours I though, Yes, that’s how I like them! I can’t decide.
I love the third from last photo of your favourite bridge. šŸ™‚

    1. Yes, I’m exactly like that, Elaine, but I do love peachy sunsets. So many shots of that bridge- it gets in everywhere, especially when I’m feeling “homesick”. Thank you šŸ™‚

    1. It’s funny, Julie- I’m quite a hyper person but when it comes to colour, soft wins. (but that won’t stop me ooh-ing and aah-ing at plummy bougainvilea and smack you in the eye red) Thanks, hon.

  6. As ever your photo display is beautiful. My favourites are your snowy garden – snow is never colourless – and midnight in Durham. But what was it, and whereabouts?

    1. Lumiere 2011, Viv- the statue in the market place in a Snowdome! It was fantastic to see. The light installation show takes place every other year so if you’re over here in November? No snow, I promise! Have you got rid of this year’s yet?

    1. I went a little “bananas” here, Sonel! Had to delete a couple because it was getting out of hand. When I have an idea I just want to run and run with it- no self discipline at all!
      Thank you šŸ™‚
