How do you like your colour- strong or weak?
I find that I have a distinct preference for the pastel and washed out tones.

The non-colour of the sea late in the day

Even better when the wind is whipping it?

Or with a hint of colour as the fog rolls in
The whitening of snow changes everything.

Our garden this Winter

And blots out all the colour from the landscape

Uplifting lemon colours the leaves in Autumn

Old gold haunts Medieval architecture

The sunflower shows its bold face

Lemons mingling with friendly oranges

And what about this voluptuous display!

Hotter still, the hibiscus

Flirting with colour in the greenhouse

Teasing the blue
Ah, those blues! Who could forget Porto?

It was everywhere in the cathedral

All the way to the spectacular, and midnight in Durham.

But it wouldn’t be complete without my favourite bridge.

And those subtle colours that I love

Like sunshine on the water
I think that’s it! The full spectrum of colours for me. Which would you choose?
Check out the other entries on this week’s Daily Post Weekly Photo Challenge. I’m just a little bit earlier this week.

I like your take on the subject, and I love that second photo of the stormy sea, it’s beautiful. The North Sea often looks grey and yet there are so many subtle shades and textures in it, I don’t think I’d ever tire of looking at it and I always love to see your watery pictures.

When I saw the subject I thought “hmm, I’m not too fussed on colour, don’t think I’ll bother”, and then last minute (as ever) I found myself pulling it together, Lorna.
Thank you so much (and for the RT too- I just spotted it)

Love your color choices. Some times you want the soft peaceful qualities and sometimes you want the bold excitement of bright colors.

No snow for us though š¦ The coldest it gets where we live is around 5-7 degrees celsius, would like to experience a white Christmas one day.

Excellent interpretation. This one has left me cold – the challenge, not your photos. I look at the curtains in front of me, and think yeah, they’re colour! or the purple sleeping bag, or the different colouring of the dog’s fur. But nothing strikes me as worth a post. Now, if monochrome/B&W was the theme I could manage it. Anyway, long-winded way of saying why I enjoyed your post.
I liked the last two and the medieval gold one especially.

If I had to pick a favourite, it’d probably be a different one every day, Rough. Delete restless, substitute indecisive, but I can’t steal the name from Elaine.
Thank you for liking it anyway. I’m just whispering this you understand but I’m not sure where I stand on the challenges. If you have plenty of ideas of your own, use them. If not, say nowt?

Lovely photos. First, looking at your soft colours, I thought Yes, that’s how I like them. Then, looking at the bold colours I though, Yes, that’s how I like them! I can’t decide.
I love the third from last photo of your favourite bridge. š

Yes, I’m exactly like that, Elaine, but I do love peachy sunsets. So many shots of that bridge- it gets in everywhere, especially when I’m feeling “homesick”. Thank you š

Great selection, Jo. I think I prefer brighter colours on the whole but the soft peachy sunsets are very soothing.

It’s funny, Julie- I’m quite a hyper person but when it comes to colour, soft wins. (but that won’t stop me ooh-ing and aah-ing at plummy bougainvilea and smack you in the eye red) Thanks, hon.

As ever your photo display is beautiful. My favourites are your snowy garden – snow is never colourless – and midnight in Durham. But what was it, and whereabouts?
