A Turkish gulet gliding across the bay

It seems like most of my life I’ve been admiring bays.  I can get lost in this photo, which was taken by my husband on our honeymoon, oh, so many years ago.  I’m tempted to go and dig out the photo albums and meander around a Greek Island or two, but this is Jake’s challenge for the Sunday Post this week.  I’ll never make it in time if I wander off down Memory Lane.

The slideshow runs when you click on the first photo.

We have some wonderful bays with pebbly beaches, remnants of our mining heritage, just up the road from here.  I planned to take the camera along after lunch, but it’s bouncing with rain.  I guess I’ll stick to memories, and the other entries on the Sunday Post.  I’m sure to find some beautiful bays there.

  1. My goodness what a great collection of Bay photos! I like the way you explained doing the post led you down memory lane. I’m sure each one of these beautiful images comes with a lovely story 😛

    1. Thanks, Rosie. Many of them do. Sometimes memory barely just goes back that far and the photo is a lovely prompt. Quite a few of them have been featured before on the blog.

      1. Yes as my dad always says, “The World is your Oyster!”. I’m excited as I have quite a bit of wonderful things coming up. India is not until end of May. It was actually supposed to be this week but got changed. I’m relieved as we have a family trip scheduled for next Saturday to Montana! We are going skiing! It will be our first real family vacation and we are going with another couple who have children the same age. I’m really looking forward to it! 🙂

  2. Beautiful shots, Jo! I love what you said in the text too…about how you wouldn’t get it done if you stopped to go down Memory Lane…how true! Going to the shoebox can be a trap!
