I really have to stop now, but I took well over 300 pictures of Wroclaw. I think you’ll agree it was worth it? Tempted to visit? You should be. Sadly I can’t lend you my wonderful family but I had a truly great time and can’t thank them enough.

How strange is life! What a nice coincidence.
It’s an odd thing- though the architecture is not alike, in many ways Poland and Portugal have a similar feel to them, away from the cities. Old fashioned values that we really like.

Ok! I’m trying to think where to go over the Eid on Oct. 25. I was originally thinking Lebanon, but the State Dept. has a traveler’s warning for Lebanon. Then I was thinking Prague. But I can be swayed toward anything!! 🙂

Sorry Toby- it was a follow up to a previous Six word Saturday, but I’m glad you got there in the end. In terms of cities I’ve managed Krakow (another family base), Warsaw and now Wroclaw, and they’re all brilliant, so if you ever get the chance… Thanks for your enthusiasm.

this is so strange and something I don’t get about wordpress. I never got notified of this reply. I only remembered that I commented here when I saw your Sunday Post just now and then came looking. goofy!! I wonder how many others I’ve missed… ah well, just one of those little things one wonders about 🙂 I’ve never been to Poland, I think I might have to get there!

It IS a bit of a challenge sometimes Toby. Somtimes I reply in the dropdown from the box at the top and sometimes from the post itself, but I’m never sure if it’s reached the target. Don’t know if you’ll get this? But you can’t cross check everything- life’s too short! (Go! go!)

The oldest working lift in Poland took us half way up the cathedral, Francine. St Elizabeth’s was much harder work. Then we went to Durham City in the UK and climbed over 300 steps to the top of our cathedral (in the rain!). I’m a glutton for punishment.
