Six Word Saturday

One man’s superhuman feat of imagination

Truly I think that description belongs to La Sagrada Familia, but Gaudi’s genius is displayed all over Barcelona. Parc Guell is one of my favourites. Well worth Six Words! Wishing you a happy Saturday!

After the last supper

I’ve seen very much better photographs of this, but no series of La Sagrada Familia would be complete without it. Sending hugs, Becky!

Six word Saturday

Looking at a topsy turvy world

Looking down to look up at Sagrada Familia. It’s Saturday so I’m joining Debbie with Six Words. If only it could be TUPsy turvy, Becky would be happy too! Have a great day, all!

The glory of Gaudi

Reaching for the skies in a spirit of optimism this New Year’s morning. I am, of course, looking up and taking part in Becky’s January challenge. Let me wish you all a Happy New Year! May the year bring peace, calm, good health and not too many more challenges.

Street photography?

There isn’t a subject in the world I’d less rather tackle than people.  They’re so tricky and they just won’t sit still!  And they get in the way of my beautiful compositions!  I’m that person who waits patiently (or not) until someone has taken the hint and moved along, out of frame.  But there are some places you have no hope of getting all to yourself, and I confess to trying to make an appealing picture of the above.  Lovers and Paris!  They go hand in hand, don’t they?

Maybe better when the subject doesn't move

Can I count this as street photography? It was on the street.

And I'm not averse to spying from my bedroom window

Nor am I averse to spying from my bedroom window!

Barcelona now- that’s a city for fun.  And FULL of people!  But I avoided as many as I could.

I've always like this harbour shot

I’ve always liked this harbour shot

And a statue is an easy target

And a statue is an easy target

But I struggled mightily with the bubbles

But I struggled mightily with the bubble makers and shakers

I think I’d better go and practise some street photography and report back, don’t you?  But I’m sure Yvette would agree it’s all about the fun, and I do try to have that.

Join me at Paula’s place for Thursday’s Special to see how it should be done.

Black and White 5 day Challenge- Day 5

Sagrada Familia

Sagrada Familia, in black and white

Here I am at Day 5 of the Black and White 5 day Challenge and it’s the ‘big reveal’, though I gave the game away yesterday with my Day 4 photo.  You knew all along it was Barcelona, didn’t you?

And now, with the help of a little WordPress magic, you can see both colour and black and white versions of my photographs.  Which would you choose?  Colour, or black and white?

In spite of myself I did enjoy the challenge, and have to thank Pommepal and Wilbur’s Travels for nominating me. They would love a visit from you.

There are only two rules for this challenge:

1. On 5 consecutive days, create a post using either a past or recent photo in B&W.
2. Each day invite another blog friend to join in the fun.

My last nomination is Elaine at I used to be Indecisive.  We meet every week on Six word Saturday and share our love of Snoopy.  I have a great collection of Charlie Brown cartoons which I’ve acquired from her blog. (thanks, Elaine!)  I look forward to seeing her take on the challenge.

I’m going to finish with Sagrada Familia, in colour, of course.

Too glorious for words, isn't it?

Hopefully see you tomorrow.  Don’t forget to bring your walking shoes.
