For some time I’ve been thinking about a wander down Memory Lane with you, but then yesterday I was searching the chaos of my past life. I didn’t find the pink palace at Estoi that I was looking for, but I was transported back in time to a place that I love. I’m sure many of you will recognise it. The magical light on the water and the allure of the backdrop of mountains.
The photo is not mine, and I have manipulated it to fit with Becky’s Squares but I’m sure he will still be pleased to see it. A pink house for Jude, or is it terracotta? Do you know where it is?
Bright memories are everything. Beautiful post. Thank you.

Beautiful shot 🙂 Clearly the Italian lakes but I’m not sure exactly where. And I’m afraid I’m going with terracotta, not pink!!

Bellissimo, we are certainly in Italy, Northern Lakes. Just to play devil’s advocate it could be seen as pink with a terracotta tinge 😉🙂

I thought it was time to roll a few out before freedom overtakes me, Carol. If it ever does! 🙂 🙂 A couple of friends, both here and in the UK, are on the move today. We’re staying relatively local for a while.

Us too. It will be years before we venture out of the country again. Lucky there’s plenty to do here. 😎😎

Looks like Lake Garda to me but then I wouldn’t know different as it’s the only Italian lake I’ve been to. I’d love to live in Italy myself Jo – if only… 🙂

Oh, and that’s definitely terracotta 🙂

An Italian portmanteau word meaning ‘baked earth’ which originally refers to the type of clay used for making pots rather than the colour 🙂 🙂

Looks Italian – maybe one of the lakes. I’d say it was terracotta rather than pink.

We are, m’dear! I met an Italian friend I haven’t seen for a long time the other day and it might have set me off. I did for a while think of living in Italy 🙂 🙂

And why not? I could have too, so easily, having lived a year in Florence in my gap year.

OK so now I have read the comments, and Italy is correct, but where exactly? And is this one of Mick’s photos? We rarely see any from him and this is a beauty. I would love to have lived in Italy, it has everything I love. Mountains, lakes, coast, great wine and excellent simple food and some wonderful history and lovely happy people.

Yes, all of those things, and wonderful gardens too. Tell you what – get a place and I’ll come visit 🤣💕
It’s top end of Garda, near Riva. These were the days when he had a good camera and took most of our holiday shots. Now he just uses a phone 🙄💕

I have always fancied a holiday in the lakes, maybe a rail trip as neither of us fancy flying just yet.
