Casting a net on the Guadiana

Something calming, peaceful… I’d love a tiled panel like this, up on our roof. It’s Saturday again, and I’m sharing Six Words with Debbie.

Indeed a very peaceful scene.

What a pretty tile Jo! I have a couple of Portuguese tiles over both my water features – one is a blue and white pattern (it’s actually 4 tiles stuck together) and the other a pretty scene of the sea through a window. I found them after an extensive source in a tile shop here – they told me they came from Portugal anyway!!

It sounds highly likely. I have a blue and white one of flowers and a coloured bowlful of flowers, and a pair of storks. Still looking for a larger one for the roof terrace. π π

The tiles sound so pretty Jo – hope you find a suitable one for your roof terrace. The colours are so uplifting π

Can you imagine creating such a beautiful thing Jo? I would love to see all of the Portuguese examples, and hope to do so one day soon.

It always fascinates me to watch an artist at work. The deftness of stroke, the details I would never be able to replicate… The search continues for my ‘piece de resistance’, Tina π π

I would love to have a tile panel like this on my house somewhere. Maybe I need to do something about it.

There are many to choose from here but I hadn’t seen one set into the wall like that. Still looking for the right one for us π€π

Well I hope you find the right one.
And by the way – you might have noticed – I finally got a walk post in – had that on my list and seeing that it is Sunday here – I am not sure if I am late for a past Monday or early for the upcoming Monday –

That’s always the way around here – too late, too early π€£ As it happens there’s a Monday walk due up tomorrow and I’ll include you there. I tend to step away from the blog during the daytime so we’ve been for a very nice walk, had lunch and I’ve done a little Portuguese. Never enough! Tomorrow is a work in progress and I’ll finish it this evening. Too nice to be indoors. Thanks for your company, Yvette π€ππ

That’s a lovely piece. Is it hand painted and fired?

I presume it is, Carol. Normally they’re mounted on a white wall but this is set into the brickwork. I like it a lot π π
