Six word Saturday

At the mercy of the tide

Such a fragile ecosystem!   The tide rushes in and out each day, reshaping the shoreline with every sweep.   It’s a watery Perspective that I love.  Not all square, nor strictly Six Words, but incredibly beautiful.  Have a good weekend!

P.S. No Monday walk again.  Someone has a birthday and we will be in the Western Algarve.  Back soon!

P.P.S.  If you are viewing this on a phone or tablet the colours are too harsh.  Imagine them a little softer.

    1. Hi lovely Sue 🤗. Just back from a refreshing break in Sagres – literally! It was freezing on an evening but the sea was the bluest blue. Trying to distance myself a little from the blog for a variety of reasons – too hot here and problems with the technology that I haven’t the energy to fix, among them. Catch up when I can 😎🏖️💕

  1. Happy birthday to the birthday person! I am not a water person, but these photos make me want to go the beach. The colors are so alive and vibrant, and I would not mind taking a walk along that beach.

  2. Breathtakingly blue, Jo! 😀 I miss the sea views so much this year and just love staying with your pictures here a while, letting them settle on my soul. I find tides fascinating … and particularly how some coastlines have such big tidal changes and others barely any at all. Wishing you a lovely week, my friend! xx

  3. Such beautiful shades of blue Jo! They are vivid on my desktop – the light is similar to what we get here in Perth in the summer. Hope you’re having a lovely time in Sagres (Mlle wishes she could be there too she loved it!) xx

    1. It’s very much a young surf scene, Rosemay, and I can see why it would appeal. 🤗🏖️💕 For us it was cooler. Too much so on an evening, but the scenery is staggering. Heading home now!

      1. Yes I gather it’s right at the south west tip of Europe Jo so must get very strong winds. Mlle loved the surfing and the social life! The scenery does look stunning. Have a safe trip back to Tavira xx 😃

  4. This loaded completely and was such a joy to spend time along the water with you. It’s easy to see why you love it there.

I’d be out there at dawn every day to see what’s washed ashore, etc… so serene…

Today I walked to the park, enjoyed the birds, inspected some bamboo and returned w/leaves to work on a study in progress.. put on guayusa/stevia/oregano ‘tea’ on the stove then worked on the wash. and another.. and anotther – and forgot about the tea.. yes, it burned. horrid.

ten steps from where i was working!

am now next door at the restaurant to ‘clear the fog’ from my brain!!!

heading home soon.. am glad to be able to sign your guestbook!

  5. What I noticed in each of your photos is the incredibly blue sky. It is so humid here in Florida that the sky usually has a milky appearance.

    1. Tina, you are not kidding! 😍 We are at the western end of the Algarve for a couple of days and it’s freezing on an evening! We didn’t bring coats or jumpers because why would you need them in 32C? 🤣💕

  6. Happy birthday to Mick 🎂 – how lovely to get away somewhere different. Hope you both have a fab time, but stay safe! I can’t even think about going anywhere yet, but maybe a few days away for my birthday could be on the cards. Love all the blue. And the boats. 🚤 ⛵ xx

    1. We were complaining we were cold when we came out of the restaurant! I can’t remember the last time I was cold 🤣. And we haven’t brought jackets or jumpers. Still 30C in the day time but so noticeably cool on a night 🤗🏖️💕

  7. Wow, beautiful photographs. As we haven’t seen blue sky for a while now, I’m drooling over your photos. Fantastic colours. Thanks for sharing and have a lovely weekend 😊 Aiva
