It was a strange day. We had driven back from the north east of Portugal, and decided to spend a night in Serpa before returning to our Algarve home. When we ventured out next morning the whole place was deserted, closing down as the virus approached. No possibility of visiting the Museum of Watches, as planned, but we were delighted to find the castle walls still accessible. A grey mist hung over the town, adding to the sombreness of the mood. Gradually it lifted and, for a moment, we were feeling on top of the world.
Lovely place. It must have felt strange to have it to yourself.

Your description of how things seemingly changed overnight really rings true Jo. At least there was some sunshine and beautiful views to take in. hoping one day soon you are able to return to see that watch museum.

Peaceful place, the photos give that feeling! 😀
Stay safe.
Very soon my 2 blogs will have their own domain and a new design. Both of them together in one (with my photos and trips – Photography and Paranóias). 🙂
Stay tuned. 😀
And, of course, as soon as the work is done, I will visit yours to keep update. 😀

Isn’t it nice to have a moment of clarity and cheer, when the clouds clear away, especially with coral rooftops and laundry hanging on a line? 🙂

It was a relief, Cathy, because we found ourselves tip toeing through the streets 😊💕

My Mom always hung the wash even in the winter, she always said the sun sanitized things, now we’re finding that to be true. Glad you enjoyed your day

I seldom do in winter because it’s quite humid here and it doesn’t dry well. I do like to see washing on a line though 🤗💕

Looks very quiet, overcast and somber. Like what you said to Andrew, the washing line is the sign of life. Hope you get to visit the Museum of Watches at some point. Happy Friday to you over there and a have a good weekend soon 😊

In the Algarve, Denzil. We no longer have a UK home. We had intended to visit our youngsters this month, but it wasn’t possible. 🙂 🙂
