Six word Saturday

A lovely surprise in my Inbox!

I just have to share the generosity of Brian Butler on his blog Travel Between the Pages.  Celebrating 3000 posts over 8 years, he launched a giveaway and I was the lucky recipient.  There’s something very beautiful about old books, and London is a favourite subject of mine.  A publisher and dealer in antique books, Brian often makes me smile.  Sharing the love this Saturday, with just a little more than Six Words.  Not so verbose as Debbie.  Have a wonderful weekend!

  1. Not often anything comes in the mail these days, not even bills, they all come via internet now, so that was an extra special surprise, and what a lovely surprise.

    1. We still get bank statements and the occasional small premium bond ‘win’, and postcards from Viveka’s travels, of course. 🙂 🙂 I was feeling very lucky when I opened my Inbox that morning, Pauline.

      1. Banking and all bills come on the computer these. Days and My computer died this morning, so will take it to the computer doctor soon. In the meantime I will just use the iPad, so can keep in touch but not do any posts for a while.

      1. It’s been a very up and down few weeks, Yvette. Our son lost his job, very unexpectedly, a couple of weeks ago. Company car went with it. He’s childminding to save money over the summer and we’ve helped where we could. Last weekend was our wedding anniversary and we had a couple of days up the coast to celebrate. Never a dull moment! Hope all is going well for you?

      2. well so sorry to hear about the up and down few weeks.
said a prayer for your son and I know you know this – but sometimes this is just what we need to help us drop our anchor with contentment later. I see this in hindsight – but some of my hardest years – like 1994 – ha – well they really did good things inside my person – and so I pray that for your son.
and for us all – that things work “for” good even though they are not always good.
        ahhh
        and things here are nice.
I am in the final week of a 5-week project that has been a little bit exhausting – but I knew it would be a challenge going in.
I rested very well the last two saturdays (cos sleep is so crucial for immune system – as we all know).
        thanks for asking
(and sorry about any extra comments to BB-
        xxoo)

  3. Gosh! How ever did they manage to get down the wire!
Joking aside, what a lovely surprise. You started packing what you are taking with you to Tavira? Or is it a case of out with the old? 😀

    1. Well this is old but it’ll have to come. We’ve sort of ground to a halt what with recent events but we’ll get our skates on when we need to. Very nice young first time buyer this morning. Will book flights next week if nothing happens 😃xx

      1. When we left NZ for Australia, 1998, the house didn’t sell. So we just put tenents in and left. 3 months later it sold privately, cash sale too. So just go with the flow Jo and follow your heart

      2. We don’t really want to get involved with rental and agencies and all that malarkey, hon. We will probably just go for 6 weeks and come back for a week for a while as we don’t want to leave it empty either. Fortunately it’s only a couple of hours flight and relatively cheap. 🙂 🙂

    1. Have you? I thought of Robert. 🙂 🙂 It arrived in the week while we were out entertaining Logan and I picked it up from the post office yesterday. Beautiful! Very grey here too but we managed some beach and park time with the little un so no complaints. House viewing this morning so I need to make a start cleaning. After my second cup of coffee. 🙂
