The 3 Day Quote Challenge #3
“Because in the end, you won’t remember the time you spent working in the office or mowing your lawn. Climb that goddamn mountain.”― Jack Kerouac
It’s the last day of my 3 Day Quote challenge, but it’s also Saturday, and we all know what that means. I’m sure lovely Annika won’t mind sharing me, just this once. I’ve found her some beautiful photographs of the Dunajec Gorge in Poland to say thank you.
The rules of the challenge :
- Thank the person who nominated you.
- Post a quote on 3 consecutive days.
- Share why this quote appeals so much to you.
- Nominate 3 different bloggers for each day.
I always loved the image of Jack Kerouac. The spontaneity of his writing, the freedom of life on the open road. I was desperate to be a part of it, to escape the everyday. Mostly it was in my imagination. I spent many, long years in an office. So today, whenever I get the chance, I’m out there. Never truly ‘On the Road’, but always aspiring.
My final nominees. Take part if you’d like, or if you have the time :
Lovely Gilly at Lucid Gypsy
Brian at Bushboy’s World
And Patti of Pilotfish
If you’ve not been nominated and are itching to give this a go, please do. Not all of the nominees are able to take part. And please don’t forget your Six Words for Debbie.
I’ll have a go when I can Jo

My climbing mountain days are well behind me, but I agree with the sentiment. Your photos are delightful and remind me so much of the Vintgar gorge in Slovenia and the wonderful mountains of the Triglav National Park.

It’s the same neck of the woods, Jude. This is just over the border. It really was beautiful there. Thanks, hon! 🙂 🙂

We spent a couple of days in the area, after a family visit in Poland, a couple of years ago, and I absolutely loved it. 🙂 🙂

One of the best days we had, down in the Pieniny mountain range, Sue. The Tatry’s were far in the distance but the gorge was… I have to say it… gorgeous 🙂 🙂

It all went badly wrong for him, but he lit a fire for many youngsters, Elaine. I wanted to be an American drifter for quite a while. 🙂 🙂

I must admit to not knowing much about him at all, apart from the fact that he wasn’t what you might call ‘mainstream’. 😉

I didn’t know that Poland had such! It’s a “gorgeous gorge”, so to speak.
Have a wonderful weekend,

It’s very flat in the middle, Pit, but the surrounding mountain scenery is wonderful. This is in southern Poland, near the border with Slovakia. 🙂 🙂 Glorious sunshine and a Bank Holiday- seldom come in the same sentence, Pit. It’s great!

Beautiful photos, Jo. I was wondering where you took them, since I was pretty sure these aren’t U.K. or Algarve scenes. Poland! That makes sense. 🙂 Of course, this quote resonates with me, the perpetual nomad, aiming for and living on the open road, or the open water. 🙂

What a place! Is this where you rafted? Your quotes have all been great, and very you. Go and enjoy the day. I’m off to a breakfast market – or a park – or both – out Zoliborz way. I’ll have to put the gorge on next visit’s list. Hugs from springtime.

It’s a long way south from you, in the Pieniny mountains, but beautiful! We had the most memorable day. In the garden already this morning, with Pachinko and breakfast. Zumba and meeting a friend later. Have a wonderful free spirited day xxx
