Following on from yesterday’s post, this is my second response to Annika’s kind invitation to take part in The 3 Day Quote challenge.  Thanks, hon!

This quote is tailor made for me.  Anyone who follows my Monday walks will know that I’m the best ‘stumbler upon’ ever!  It’s not every day that you come across a reconstructed Roman Fort in the middle of a housing estate, now is it?  Whether I’m up the north east coast in South Shields, or poking about in the back streets of Jerez, I seem to have a penchant for stumbling.  Where next, I wonder.

  3. Meant to comment earlier, but there’s always interruptions! 😦 Stumbling on places or ‘things’ is what I love best about photography. There’s always something out there to photograph, but it’s the unexpected, right place at the right time ones that seem to be extra special.

    Sometimes it feels like you’re a cat on the prowl, balancing on the fence. Then you fall off, and land right in a basket filled with tuna.

    Here’s to stumbling tourists, long may we keep our ability to marvel!

    1. I’m climbing right back out again because I hate tuna, Shia. Could I be picky and have salmon? 🙂 🙂 But yes, here’s to us! And I might as well have wine. I’m not all that keen on milk either. 🙂

  6. You’re an amazing stumbler, Jo. You must have some built-in GPS system that constantly errors, and sends you into new, unexpected situations, off the beaten track, and shows you wonderful finds instead. 🙂 Reading your quote, I had to think of those many times we tried to fix an issue on our boat, stumbling onto another one. And as such, the list of boat projects (or undiscovered treasures) never ends!

    1. Your man still hankering after another boat, Liesbet? I read it in your comments somewhere. It was an old dream of mine to own one but it seems to’ve sunk 😦 😦 Thank you!

      1. Haha! Maybe in the Algarve, you can own a small one to get out on the water once in a while? And, nope, no hankering at all for another sailboat here, Jo. Not at all!!! Eight years of stress and challenges (with the intermittent amazing moments, of course) has been enough for now. 🙂

  9. That has happened to me time and time again, particularly when I’m in France and my s-i-l and I are tootling around the country. It’s so much fun. I’ve also found, on a smaller scale, that when I can’t find something, while looking for it, I usually come across something else I needed. 🙂

  10. Most apt Jo. Nothing more exciting than stumbling upon something unexpected. Have a lovely BH weekend Jo, hope you have some sun, it seems to have disappeared here today, but at least the wind has eased. Good luck with the house sale. Remember kerb appeal counts and then the first 30 seconds inside, so scrub up that hallway and put some containers full of lovely flowers outside the front door 😀

    1. We already have a flower filled manger,Boston Ivy on the side wall and the smoke bush is just coming into it’s own. That do you? We’re having posh lunch in the village of Snape near Thorp Perrow Arboretum. BH treat xx

    1. Hiya darlin 🙂 🙂 Lunch out and a visit to Thorp Perrow Arboretum today. Avoiding the highways and byways over the weekend, with a few little treats thrown in. Tour de France is in Yorkshire and that way lies mayhem, but it was nice to see the bunting out today.

  15. How true, Jo! The unexpected on holiday become the best finds and the most memeroable! Stumbling across an Easter celebration in Corfu was amazing as we were invited to take part, in the church, following along in with the congregation as the priest walked around the village and blessed each house … as for the celebration afterwards – wow! You are an expert at stumbling across the unusual, unknown whilst out and about … and happily you share on your blog! 😀

Another blogger wrote about her experience in Skalepos, where Mamma Mia is set and that set off my nostalgia yesterday … my thoughts are still twirling with memories of some fantastic holidays where we became close friends with a couple of Greek families. Ahh… hope you can sit out under your tree this morning as well. Xx

      2. Out and about today and Tuesday but probably give the Bank Hol a miss and just pootle. Kind of hoping for some house viewers, but not really 🙂 🙂

      3. good luck with that. The worst thing about house viewings is constantly having to keep it ready in a state of hope and anticipation. It took us almost 12 months and one or two false starts and disappointments.
