The star of our Spring garden
She’s a beauty, isn’t she? I can’t think of a better compliment to a blue sky. It’s turned rather chilly now, but I’ve sat beneath our Amelanchier on every possible occasion this Spring. Join Debbie with a smile and Six Words this Saturday.

Your tree is glorious, Jo. Do the flowers have a beautiful scent?

Beautiful photos, Jo! They’re such glorious trees, and do you know, they have an abundance of names where they’re native. I lived in western North Carolina for a year, near the Blue Ridge Mountains and Appalachia. They call it “Sarvis” which is “service” said with the local accent, and is short for service berry, another name for the tree. When I lived in upstate NY, it was Shadbush, because they bloom when the shad come up river.

I suppose that might be so of a number of trees, Lynn. I’m not great on names but this one has lived with us for a lot of years now. 🙂 🙂 Thanks, darlin!

It’s a wonderful tree, Emma. Quite often we’re in the Algarve when it’s at it’s best. There’s always a bright side. 🙂 🙂

I gather it’s more often wintry than not in Ireland, Susan. Very beautiful, though. 🙂 🙂 Thanks for stopping by.

Just as well you named it! Not familiar to me by that name at least. Have you started a list of things you’ll miss in Portugal, or is that too melancholy?

Not really. 🙂 🙂 We do have quite a nice fountain in the garden and a small squirrel topiary I bought Michael for a long ago birthday and we’re thinking of taking them with. Rather depends on how much our car will hold. I don’t know if we’ll come back to Hartlepool but I will most certainly visit Leeds and Nottingham so I’ll have a small English ‘fix’. 🙂

It will be a process of elimination. We have clothes and furnishings out there so we don’t need much more. Not going to be easy. We’re taking a couple of sets of drawers/cabinet to James today. 🙂 🙂

I do hope Summer will come for you. It does sound like the top part of the world is still going through winter…sounds ridiculous. Here in Australia we still aren’t that cold yet…and I hope that stays that way lol. You have a great weekend lovely 🙂 ❤

Our cherry tree has shed the white and is all green now but it was similarly breath taking. Your photos are really a demonstration of your affection!

Heart soaringly beautiful, Jo and just the lift I needed to start the day! The white seems to shimmer with beauty and life! Oh, what a difference from last weekend … it only reached seven yesterday and non-stop grey! Here’s to plants and flowers and all their free gifts! Happy Weekend! 🌺🌻

Sitting in ‘my’ armchair, with the laptop- of course- I can see through our kitchen window and out to the garden. It fills the whole window very easily at present. And the sky is blue one minute and laden with clouds the next. 🙂 🙂 Happy Saturday, whatever the weather, Annika!

It sounds heavenly! Saturday mornings I take breakfast in bed, with a lovely view of the trees in the wood nearby! A quiet couple of hours whilst Hubby is off food shopping and my son sleeps in! Enjoy your special view and peace. Xx
