I’m interpreting the Weekly Photo Challenge to suit myself this week. On Monday’s chilly walk I suggested that I still have a few warm Algarve images to share, and here they are in Variations on a Theme
Those of you who know me will have spotted that the theme is Tavira. I’m heading there this weekend and this will be my last post for a while.
I couldn’t leave without one more tribute to Paula. She works hard and still manages to bring us Thursday’s Special each week. Two views on the same subject. What do you think? Take care, till next time.

LOL. Like some other bloggers, I carefully went through each photo, trying to figure out the theme… Have a great trip, Jo.

Sorry darlin! I was just using up nice Algarve leftovers from the last trip before I go again. 😦 😦 Thank you!

Bonnest of voyages! Enjoy relaxation and a break from blogging. This post show where your heart is. I love this mix of images, especially the hats. Don’t forget to pack a few hugs from the other side of the world.

One of these days I’ll buy a sunhat. 🙂 🙂 Happy Australia Day to you! Hugs lined up and waiting by the backpack 🙂

Not so happy Australia Day. I prefer to call it invasion day. I just heard that one celebration will involve a smoking ceremony, and there’s a move afoot to change the date and celebrate Australia at a time that doesn’t memorialise dispossession. But thank you for the happiness!

I know there’s a whole lot of politicking around the issues but I just like the fireworks. I’m shallow 🙂 🙂

(I’m fiddling around booking and unhooking Warsaw accommodation. I can’t believe it’s 11 months since we left.)

11 months! That makes the twins nearly a year older 😦 Get yourself booked, woman! 🙂 🙂

Just discovered major work needs doing on the bathroom before the house begins collapsing from rotten timbers, so I cancelled a tentative accommodation booking until I know the worst.

Ah, you are very sneaky. I was looking through the images and thinking, views? Cupids? Then came the sardine tins and the cat hungrily looking at them, begging you to open one. Tavira uh! I am not at all jealous of you heading to sunshine and sunshine and sun… I just know we will have a heat wave whilst you are away. Hope you are not away from the blog for too long, but I know you will be busy bossing that poor husband of yours around to take you out to explore the countryside and the towns around you. Just buy him plenty of cake 😀 And I am sure you and Becky will be up to something. Have fun!!

Well, you do live in the sunny south, and I expect you’ll have the last laugh. The best bit is getting a double dose of blossom- in the Algarve and then here later on. We do have a few things planned but I doubt I’m going to get him to Jerez. 😦

Well, it’s probably not ‘lazing on the beach’ weather which I know he likes, so maybe a few trips away from home and some DIY are in order.

Thanks, Cathy. 🙂 🙂 I think it will be pleasant most of the time. The blossom is already out on the Algarve trees.

A good way to post a collection of random photographs within this “theme”, Jo. Enjoy your trip south, the sea, the sun, the sights, the atmosphere… the warmth!! 🙂

These are some of my leftovers from the last Algarve trip, Liesbet. I thought I should post them before I go. 🙂 🙂 And it’s added incentive to go, just in case I needed it. 🙂 Thanks, hon!

The theme is the town of Tavira, Kelly. We have a home there and that’s where I’m disappearing off to. Sorry to confuse 🙂 🙂

You are quite right about our hardworking Paula, Jo! As for the theme, I went for “what Jo saw in the Algarve” a I didn’t get the Tavira specific bit !!

I wouldn’t expect you to, Sue. I simply wanted to post these photos and any excuse does. (I’m sure I shouldn’t say that. I might get disqualified 🙂 )

Are you sure the cat is thinking? I’m always suspicious about a cat’s mental processes, they are such devious animals. My neighbour has a Burmese cat whose welfare I am entrusted with when she goes on vacation, but I swear that cat actually enjoys putting me through the wringer by disappearing to the top of a wardrobe, under a bed and under kitchen cabinets just so he can watch me panic.

I probably should whisper this, Mari, but I’m not really a cat lover. I have him ‘thinking’ about food because I placed him opposite the tins of sardines in my gallery., but you’re right. Never trust them. 🙂 🙂

What a fabulous post – wasn’t this sunny there yesterday though. Very cloudy, and chilly at times too 😦 still we managed to sit for a hour or so by the river and then another down at Quatro Águas!

Love the second shot of the hats. A lot more presence. Those parcels (sweets?) on the bridge are intriguing. Are they a permanent fixture? – and yes, enjoy your trip!
LikeLike
The sweets were there one day and gone the next time I passed, so it must have been some kind of event. 🙂 🙂 I agree the second shot is better but I always have a soft spot for shadows.
