Watching skies

In the lull between Christmas and New Year I find myself becalmed.  Part of me looks back in wonder at the year that’s gone (was it really only this year that my Florence dream came true?  It seems so distant, yet the images so clear)  The other part squirms with excitement at what might lay ahead.  I still have carefully nurtured memories of Portugal to share with you, but I’ll stay in the moment, for now.

There have been so many lovely skies this month, especially if you’ve been following Becky.  I feel like I’ve put my series to bed now.

  1. Being a fan and all of clouds and skies in general, I appreciate your enthusiasm for sharing your photographs 🙂 We are continuously saying to each other how time is just whizzing by so fast. Or is that a sign we are nearly hitting a significant birthday again!!

      1. We have to be organised a fair way ahead, due to travelling and housesits, though it is good not to look too far ahead. Actually we see people advertising for housesitters for next Christmas, and no we did NOT reply to that advert.

  2. I’m with you on feeling becalmed, Jo….I’m trying to do some housework, but haven’t got the energy. I love your skies, and even more love the idea of you squirming with excitement about upcoming events!

    1. Yes, I know the feeling, Heather. 🙂 🙂 It was bright and crispy here this morning and Mick had a job down in Yorkshire so I went along for the ride. The Moors look stunning with a frosting of white.

    1. I’ve enjoyed the skies so much these last couple of weeks, Miriam. I sit beside my Christmas tree on a morning with dawn just over my shoulder, and if I can get out and about at sunset I love it. Well wrapped up, of course 🙂 🙂 Thanks, darlin!

  3. Wow….what a sunset. Such a treat. Beautiful show and wonderfully captured 🙂 It’s this lull between Christmas and the New Year that for those of us on holidays, anything goes and you lose track of the days. At least that’s how I am feeling right now 🙂 Enjoy this time of the year, Jo. May next year bring many happy returns for you ❤

    1. I remember luxuriating in these few days before I retired, Mabel. 🙂 🙂 Bright and crisp here this morning so I’ve been out and about- of course! Wishing you good health and happiness in the year to come, darlin’, and many thanks for all the support.
