Six word Saturday

Playing with shadows in the woods

A nostalgic look at Autumn because I shan’t be here for most of it.  Nice to remember it at its best, in dappled sun and shade (and each with six words, if you run the gallery).  Dawn is sharing Festival of Leaves if you’d like to join in.

Next week I’m off to the Algarve again, for quite a long spell this time.  I won’t be posting for a little while as I shall be without Internet.  Sighs with relief!  I have one more walk for you on Monday.  Have a great weekend, and a wonderful Autumn, and I’ll be back when I can.

Meantime, Debbie is sharing some superb photos of Vietnam.  Join her for Six Word Saturday?

  3. Autumn seems to have bypassed me this year, gone from green to brown! Apart from the Virginia Creeper which is mostly on the ground now. Just one or two leaves hanging on in the rain. Your walk in the woods makes me think of Whitcliffe woods in Ludlow. I had many an autumn walk there. I might take November off from blogging too, although I do have hundreds of lovely Cornish photos to post. I’m sure we’ll talk before you go, but just in case, have a great time and I am not at all envious… [grits teeth]

      1. Had to look up Boston Ivy, to see what difference there is between it and Virginia Creeper. Seems yours has three leaves whilst mine has five!

      1. Funny you say that, Jo. I’ve only got a couple more blog posts for the year, and then I’ll be off the WP world til sometime next year 🙂 So yes, winding down soon 😀 You have a good trip and holiday ❤

  6. It’s good to have a break from the Internet. When I got to Italy and I am up in the mountains we don’t have internet or good cell phone connections. It’s wonderful – like the old days when we just enjoyed life, nature, etc. Good for the mind and soul!

  7. Ahh..these are beautiful photos, Jo and you’re right, this is the very best of Autum; crisp cold in the morning, warmer days, the crackling of dried leaves in the paths just waiting for a playful kick in the air, wondrous colours all around with the trees putting on their yearly display for us – I always forget quite how special a season it is! Your pictures capture it perfectly…and the curious hedgehog had me smiling! What has he seen…oh you! 😀🍁🍂

    1. I was in the Valley Gardens at Saltburn while Mick was working nearby, Annika, and I never can resist an opportunity to play. 🙂 🙂 Had the devil of a time posting this this morning so I’m totally relieved it’s up. Have a great weekend!
