Goldfinch

I spy, with my eye,

A goldfinch, sweetly gilded.

Pure labour of love

Hand-painted, on my daughter’s living room wall.  He seems to be looking Over his shoulder, rather wisely, I think.  Join Paula in this week’s Thursday’s Special for a totally incredible look at the moon.

  1. It is lovely, but are you sure it is a goldfinch? I always thought they had brightly coloured red heads and yellow on their wings? Oh, well it is still very beautiful. How nice to be able to paint murals on your own walls. She is a clever lass 🙂

    1. She does have a very beautiful home, Carina. They don’t have much money to spare but she ploughs every bit of talent into it. The gifts don’t come from me, but I’m very happy that she has them. 🙂 🙂

  2. Wow, that’s beautiful, and so detailed. I don’t know what your daughter does but if she isn’t making money out of her art work then she should be, she has a great talent 🙂 🙂

    1. She isn’t, Eunice. She’s a Commissioner for the local council. She paints and sews for pleasure. 🙂 🙂 The art world does not provide a stable enough livelihood. Many thanks!

  3. Wow! This is beautiful, tender and exquisitely detailed. Did your daughter paint this? What a fantastic piece of art literally on one’s wall! Yes, a very wise and knowing look…quite calm.

Then I noticed the details around ……and read the caption under the image….
    Really perfect for Paula’s theme!
