It’s that time of year again!
Very cute, our seahorse, isn’t he? Yet again the good folks of Saltburn by the Sea have decorated their pier with yarn bombing. It’s a Summer tradition. Are they in good Order? I think I should let you be the judge of that.
There are some wild hairdo’s, aren’t there? You can probably tell that there was a fresh breeze that day, but still lots of people.
Let’s end with a bit of a gallop, down by the sea. Such skilled handiwork, as well as being completely adorable.
That’s it for another year. The next day it simply poured, and has continued to do so. The shopaholics amongst you will adore Debbie’s Six Word Saturday this week. Me, I just want to go to Madrid! Wishing you a happy weekend!

Aren’t these just fantastic? The clever people of Saltburn have excelled themselves again.

This reminds me of some of the things we see in Sculpture by the Sea here. Whimsical, and makes you smile. 🙂

It’ a good tradition … celebrating the sea, its crops and its gifts. Don’t we need to celebrate the beauty and our enjoyment of it.

I love the little seahorse too Jo and the mermaids – they must be looking rather bedraggled now though with all the rain 😦 Hope it fines up soon! 🙂

I remember the last “That time of the year” and I cannot believe a year has passed by already again. I do love the maritime theme in many of these adorable handicrafts. Very cute! With that theme, they should not drown in all the rain, luckily.

I dread to think how they must have looked when they were streaming with rain, Liesbet, though it might have made an interesting shot if I’d been feeling hardy. 🙂 🙂 Happy Sunday to you!

I love the way you’ve caught the beach and its denizens slightly blurry in the background. Do you know when this yarn-bombing started? It’s only appeared on my radar in the last five years. A cheerful addition to the beach. I hope the rest of your weekend was / is too. Hugs today have a bit of sawdust and a few dewdrops spattered on them.

I can’t remember when I ever saw that beach so busy, Meg, so it was impossible not to have a cast of characters. 🙂 🙂 I’ve only been aware of it for about the same amount of time. I remember being in Norfolk and seeing trees yarnbombed and being completely bemused. Sawdust? Some kind of DIY going on, methinks… but I’m good at being wrong. 🙂 Your hugs have just a tremble of sunshine in them.

No. Firewood. J’s not up to steep hills or long standing. What he’d do in 5 seconds previously takes me half an hour, but hey! I can do it. He won’t let me touch the chainsaw though. Only a tremble of sunshine. Summer needs to lift its game.

Every time I raise my eyes from the screen and consider breakfast in the garden it vanishes. Hee! Hee! The sun not the garden 🙂 You and a chainsaw is a frightening image. I shall be riveted to my seat for the tennis final this afternoon. That old passion again 🙂 🙂 Hugs, darlin!

I absolutely adore the tradition Jo. Do you think the decorations are freshly done each year? Or do you see some favourites coming back year after year<

Sometimes the ideas are very similar, Sue, but they’re all done from scratch. Something to do on stormy nights, I guess. 🙂 🙂 It’s a lovely tradition and I’m amazed all over again every year.

The seahorse is very cute but the first mermaid has my heart, she’s lovely. The pictures with words are fab too, what clever people making them. If I made them I’d be heartbroken when they got wet 😦

The one with the mane of hair? I like the turquoise one who’s propping the house up, or it’s propping her up! 🙂 🙂 But my favourites are probably the prancing horses because I never saw anything like that before. Got a plan this weekend, Gilly? I was expecting James but he rang not long since to cancel so I’m free of washing this weekend. 🙂 🙂
