You can’t beat a good castle!
No, you haven’t done something funny to the screen! This is Beaumaris Castle, in black and white. I rather like it, but then, I liked the original too. I’m a bit vain like that! It’s just that I desperately wanted to join in Paula’s Black and White Sunday, Traces of the Past and I’m running out of time.
So I’ve combined it with Debbie’s Six Word Saturday. I’m sure Debs won’t mind. She knows I can’t count. Just as Paula knows I can’t resist a little bit of colour. Doesn’t the castle have a stunning outlook? The geology of Anglesey is fascinating too.
Enjoy your Easter weekend!
I hope you had a wonderful Easter with your family. Ours was quiet, but nice. We did some hiking and not as much cooking this year. Loved your castle shots – they look so impressive in black and white. Nice!

It was a strange one. I kept imagining Dad sitting watching snooker and Grand Prix, as he always did at Easter while I cooked. 🙂 A fleeting visit from my son and his new lady kept me on my toes. Thanks, darlin. Lovely to talk to you 🙂

This works brilliantly and it’s as if I’m just waiting for riders of olden times to ride through the gates! Very atmospheric, Jo…as for rules…I’m sure they are there to be broken a bit!😀

I’d have liked more time to look around, Annika, but we were with a very timid border collie who wasn’t impressed. 🙂 🙂

Very nice Jo! Castles go so well with black and white photography. I love going for a walk and seeing birds and lizards, would love to see castles and ruins for a change 🙂

I prefer colour too, but this castle lends itself to B&W rather well. Good enough to frame 🙂

Black and white always works well with the textures of ancient buildings. And that chocolate sea, beautiful my lovely!

I know it’s a terrible cheat but I did love that one, Gilly. Actually the river in Tavira was a similar colour when we first saw it this trip. They’d had heavy rains which brought all the red mud down. Hugs, darlin! 🙂

Wow wow wow!!! That first castle shot is a beauty, but the last one tops everything. So much gold, and light and sparkle.
