Six word Saturday

With love, from me to you!

It’s here and gone again, and it’s nearly time to whizz the decorations away.  I did love having my hearth flicker in candlelight, and those rosy dawns, sitting beside my Christmas tree. Usually I hang on to till twelfth night, reluctant to shed the sparkle for cold, dark mornings.  But this year I’m heading south, hoping for a little early warmth, so my tree will have to come down tomorrow.

It was fun while it lasted, wasn’t it?  But here I am, saying goodbye to the good with the bad. Wishing, as we always do, for the peace that eludes our world.  Can’t say it better than the Beatles- “With love, from me to you”.  Want to share six words?

Happy New Year!  Feel free to go walking without me on Monday.  God bless!

  1. As much as we do love our Christmas decorations, it does feel good to take them down and move on with our year. I’m excited you get to go to warmer climes, Jo. I hope you have a wonderful trip! 🙂

    1. I was just putting a few things in a bag to take out there, Cathy. Got a heavy cold at present and these past few days have felt endless. I’ll be glad to go but we’ll be up in the wee small hours for the flight. Will leave it till last minute to take the tree down, poor thing. Happy New Year to you!

  2. I thought it was a fine layer of snow at first, but it’s hard frost, Portugal will be spring like after that. Gorgeous photos and the red leaves look positively festive. So 2017 is here, how lovely to begin it in Tavira. I can imagine you strolling along the river bank, café con lette and pastel de nata as you enjoy the view. Enjoy sweetheart and with big hugs, G xx.

    1. We had a couple of gloriously crisp frosty days last month, Gilly. Damp this morning but nobody’s going anywhere 🙂 Yet! Mick says 16/17C with a sprinkle of rain at some point but I’ll just wait and see. Full programme for the first week anyway. Good night, darlin? Take care of yourself, Gilly! I’ll be popping in from time to time. Mega hugs 🙂 🙂

      1. I was in bed with my book by nine, but the fireworks woke me at midnight! I’m not much of a party person or much good at alcohol, so boring I know. How long will you be away? I expect you’ve got some walks planned, I’ll look forward to seeing what you get up to. You take care too and I’m sending hugs back to you ((( x (:-) x )))

    1. Years since I was in Brighton, Suze. And I’ll never catch up with all those exotic places you keep going. 🙂 No harm in dreaming though. Healthy, happy 2017 to you too!

      1. Have to be a good bottle of red, then! I have some Dao I can share (if you’re quick 🙂 ). Finished off my white port last night. It won’t keep once it’s opened you know. Might save the red port to cheer us up when we get back from the Algarve. Hugs and happy New Year, Jude 🙂
